Actually, as far as Blog Design times go, this one came out rather quickly. I believe I started on it Saturday morning. With some projects, everything clicks right away and BAMM! They're quickly out the door. Other projects will eat my lunch and I seemingly have to scratch and claw to get every friggin' pixel looking correctly.

Now Gert can't complain of NOT getting a treat.

Looking similar, Eh? You have no idea how similar this design started.

Lindsay already had this other Green Mountains image she wanted me to use for her Fixed Background. So, between Green and Purple / Lavender, I figured I'd pursue the Green for the Header Border and Sidebar Headings. Especially because I had already settled on that certain Cave image for inside the Header.

So, I first created a Green Header Border. To differentiate between Lindsay's and yours, I selected a slightly darker shade of Green. I also softened the Bevel Effect as you see above vs. yours having the sharp triangular Bevel. And I didn't incorporate any Noise, which is the Photoshop term for that speckling that your Header Border has. Plus, I used the Double Ring Gloss Contour, which inserts those Double Lines in the interior of the Header vs. yours NOT having those. I then created some Sidebar Headings very similar to yours, but with a rectangular interior vs. yours being rounded.

Then I stood back and observed the design. Well, as awesome as it looked ... I couldn't help, but think that while I knew the subtle differences between your Header Border & Sidebar Headings and Lindsay's, most people might THINK they were identical. So, I decided I'd better change direction and pursue the Purple route, which was the other choice Lindsay had given me. And VOILA!

I think I want to change my header with the cave in it.
It is a FABULOUS look, and I wish I had thought of it.
