Those of you who are cyber stalking me properly know we have been enduring a serious drought with excessive heat and now have had a bad storm. I of course took photos! yay! These photos were taken yesterday evening following the storm.
The storm produced 70-95 mph straight line winds, depending on which area you were in. I think a large portion of the town I live in spent the night without power and all the lightening causes several fires.
Many homes and business were quite damaged -- rooves blowing off or collapsing, branches falling on cars, power poles being blown over, fences being blown over, and whole trees being blown over into roadways, onto fences, ect...
God sure paints a pretty picture doesn't He?
This is after the storm, the back side of it. It was kinda creepy looking and very pretty at the same time.
This is the dead tree that got blown over in our yard. Somehow it managed to not fall on the house. The branches literally scraped down the siding and only poked through in 3 small spots.
We have a metal roof on our home so it remained intact and no damage was done from the estimated 80mph winds.
Okay, this pic is actually from last May (you can tell because everything is GREEN and not burnt up from the unrelenting sunlight and heat). It's a double rainbow but it's hard to see the second one in the photo. Little reminder left for us.
