Yes, I've been blogging for a whole year!
I went back and had a look at my first several posts. Not very interesting. They were short and well, short.
As you can see, I've overcome my shyness and now babble on about dogs, Hermit, fibro, food, purses, and whatever else strikes my fancy.
My very first post, November 9, 2008:
Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific!
~~And some favorite posts from a while back~~
Drama Queen Hermitess goes Christmas shopping:
I Totally Caved
My near death experience:
Smothered
Memories of the best Christmas gift I ever received:
Christmas Surprise
Mostly I just like the pic in this post:
Can I Have It?

The best part of the whole business is that you have stuck with it and made some wonderful friends on Opera - like me!

Welcome I_ArtMan! Oh goody! I like knowing it just gets better and better.
Woo Hoo! Thanks Zaphira!
How long have you all been blogging

I'll bet I was not one of your first. How about Cheryl (DuckyChickenLady)? I know she was my first friend here because it was her MOTW pick that got me into this whole My Opera thing in the first place! Alas, Cheryl spends most of her time on Facebook now. But it was so great to actually visit her and the family at their farm in the Ottawa area this past summer (just so I could sample one of her awesome cakes for you!
Jarka, as you know, is hard at work studying to be a veterinarian. That is so awesome!

What impressed me (in a comedic quaintness sort of way) about your posts, Bianca, was the exuberance over your topics (like LOTS of full capital letters), funny little asides (using lots of bracketed phrases) and the use of expressive slang ("chuffed", "meh", "rad", etc.).
Don't get me wrong: you did have a number of serious topic posts about life in SA that were informative to me as a Canadian about how things are in another part of the world. Compared to most young adults, your writing was articulate and prolific. That is a big "hook" for me as a reader of other people's blogs.
Now if I could just have a decent translator for some of the non-English blogs... Some of them seem like they might be interesting.

my posts are too long for most blog surfers. i don't think people have patience with reading anymore. but it's o.k., i blog for my self. if i get a few comments now and then, it makes it more interesting.

- No adverts.
- Lots of room to post pictures in the blog itself.
- No advertisements.
- Post as many comments to a thread as you want (the longest I saw was over 200
- No games to clutter up what you really want to do: write and post pics!!
- Proclaim a cause you believe in without finding an "application" for it.
- No sales pitches for weight loss.
- You can totally customise the look of your blog with know-how of CSS.

Thanks everyone!
Oh yes Bianca and Lucy's blogs are very entertaining with all the little asides and things.
But this is why I
I enjoy just cruising through and seeing what everyone is up to, leaving comments, and seeing photos.
