Mastering the Art of House Management

, , , ...

As the sole maid, chef, caretaker, and conseirge of this place I dwell in I do actually have a lot of responsibility. I've been trying to wrap my head around my new job and figure out the most efficient ways of doing things. This is part of my quest to get things done and still keep the fibro under control. My life has changed so much! Well, I guess a girls' gotta adapt ....

Put Yer Longjohns On, It's Cold Outside Bessie!

,

It. Is. So. Cold.

Yay its Friday! :hat:
We had a bit of snow yesterday, just some flurries but its still snow. An arctic cold front came through Wednesday night & dropped the temps into single digits. I've blanketed my horse & carry him warm buckets of water twice a day when he gets fed. I'm not out there long but my, I'm sure glad to get back indoors!

Happy news! Hermit returned home last night! Being apart doesn't suit us & we both whined at length about the separation via phone calls & texts. Welcome home husband!

Last Tuesday I got called in to work because -- brace yourself -- the annoying staff that calls in every week called in. So I went, even though I probably shouldn't have because I wasn't feeling well. Homer: Doh! But then I called in for yesterday. :D I haven't called in sick in over a year. I slept off & on all day. I needed it badly. Last night I kept waking up due to pain levels getting higher, so today I will spend resting again.

My last scheduled work day is Jan 24.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Take This Job And Shove It....I Ain't Workin' Here No More...

(...you know like the country song. :sing: )

Well, after much thought, prayers, and discussion I FINALLY made a decision about my job. The main one anyway. I work at one job 4 hours per week preparing meals for elderly people and seeing that they get delivered to their homes. My second job I work about 16 hours per week with a developmentally disabled woman and this is the one that has begun stressing me. Anyway, I've put in my 2 weeks notice there today but I will remain employed as fill-in staff up to 8 hours every 2 weeks. This gals gotta stop being so stubborn & put her health first.

I am relieved to have done this, more than I initially thought I would be. So yay for me!:drunk:

I'm feeling pretty tired and sore today so off I go to do other restful type things.

bye bye

Roadtrip Rewind

,

Greetings friends!

Has everyone recovered from their busy holiday?
I'm still mending. I thought I'd share some highlights from the Hermit Family Christmas!

~we managed to leave 4 large gift bags at our house & didn't realize it until we had already driven 2 hours away. Homer: Doh!

~I did the Running Man (dance) in a Hawaiian grass skirt & lais for the entertainment of others.
:eyes:

~I learned & danced the Chicken Dance. Oh yes. I did. :jester:

~I played musical chairs & was robbed of my victory!
(and almost fell on the floor)

~I was bad & did not help my mom cook our Christmas day meal as I'd told her I would. But only because I was worn out from the activities I mentioned above.

~we all got great gifts & the food was excellent.
(I got leopard print jammies, a soft sweater, & the Animal Crossing NDS game I wanted, among other things)

~I dressed my dog up like Santa. :right:

~I Slept the whole 3 hour drive home, which I believe has never happened before!

It was a busy but fun trip. Naturally the fibromonster is in a full rage now. I slept all day yesterday & wouldve slept a lot today if my work hadn't started calling me obsessively at 645 am because someone called in last minute AGAIN. I got called throughout the morning. Good thing the ringer was off! but I did end up going in & covering a couple of hours. Now fibromonster is torturing me again. Yaayy. I'm considering quitting. I have too many health issues to be continually harassed because -- oh my dog -- I actually show up for work. *gasp*

:irked: stupid people

~UPDATE~ ITS BEDLAM 2008!!

,

So its after midnight & I must get up in 5.5 hours to go to work. Again, it is completely unnecessary for anyone to be up before the sun. Make a rule people! Yes I will probably complain about this in great length until summer, you've been warned, plan accordingly.

Today is highly anticipated in my area. The two rival universities located in the state I live in are playing football against each other. It is our citys turn to host this year. (I graduated from one of these universities & still live in the area) we usually loose, but when we do win its a great upset & very fun for us to tease the others about it. :jester: I will be wearing my colors but will not attend the game. They are not selling tickets! One must buy season tickets if they want to go watch. Ridiculous! Not that I'd go, but that's not the point. So the president of our university would prefer 10000 seats to be empty rather than sell tickets.

I will update after the game as to who wins.

If I'm still awake after having to get up at the buttcrack of dawn.

UPDATE!
The game is over. It was quite exciting 44 to 41(us) in the last 10 minutes. It was looking hopeful! Then at the end of the game it was 61 to 41(us). So as expected we did loose but we definatly made them work for it. :D
