Opera has support for APNG now.

here are some example APNGs(there is a little flickering in the first frame, im not sure if this is a bug in Opera or in the firefox apng encoder):

i'm also currently writing an SVG2APNG converter as a firefox extension:

maybe something like this would be possible as an Opera widget.
for this i would need access to an apng encoder, not sure if this is possible via js.
anyways, this is again some great news, at least there is a posibility to get rid of animated gifs someday.
