I have been playing Wow for nearly 2 years, and have 2 60levs:a nightelf chaser and a human warrior, both are female characters.
I was absorbed into Wow the first day it came to this country. There once was a fever with it among the youth, everyone want to try to play a real 3D online game, and also it was free that time.
With no particular reason, I choose the name "hdhao", and built the character, a chaser. That's the character I played for almost a year, I never thought I would do so when it began to take up all the time I have: even in dreams.
Then, on the request of some of my classmates, I changed a sever, and got another character, a warrior and played with them. With this new one, the real meaning, the true Wow idea turned up: the Dungeons, the raid, the guild. Every minute in Wow we are raiding, or preparing for raid and the Blizzard was adding new and more powerful Dungeons patch after patch!
Since the burning crusade has not yet come to China mainland, the most powerful Dungeon now is NAXX, people really get freaked out in there! They pour more time, or even money in it just wanting to get the most powerful equipment.
That's what they do: they spent hours after hours in raiding, got the best equipment that anyone else have never seen, stand in the crowd and show themselves. And that's what they want!
I admit the most exciting things about Wow is that it requires largely of cooperation, and the joy of defeating monsters after monsters with your friends, often with hardworking. But why are the dungeons become so powerful that many player just can not have their fun in them any more?
Everyday farming, everyday raiding.
So, the players leave one by one. Some of them wait for the burning crusade, some just quit. Anyway, the "burning crusade" will never be available before May, cause the 9th City( the company that operates Wow for Blizzard in China mainland) have just got in handy a new game coming to China, the guild war, so the "burning crusade" have to make way for it. That's something to wait for! That's one reason why the Wow player call the "9th city", "dog city". A name with "dog" in it will never be a good name in China, you know.
A month ago, I finally quit. Since then, I've got to wonder why I lost myself in such a game for so long. Sometimes, people's getting lost in something is just fine, at least we should have sometime to relax, but why we are absorbed in such a game so deep, and the result hurts us so badly?
World of warcraft have some magic hidden in it, I guess…
YO, I've got another question to ask, do you have a "month card" for Wow so that you can play as long as you wanna in a whole month?
We do not, the "dog city" wouldn't do such a thing...so every hour, 0.4yuan.
