CONTINUE: Your printer displays a warning, but continues to print until you replace the supply.

STOP: The printer stops printing until you go ahead and replace the used supply. You can also press ? to continue printing. However, the printer will continue to display the warning.

Even though the default value is AUTO, but you have options to choose how printer should react in such a situation, including how it should handle the pages that are involved in it. ON is another option you can use and the printer will reprint any pages that will cause a paper jam.
