Favorite, Hue, Homeland, Huong river
Dawn on Huong riverGently flowing through the heart of Hue city, Huong river (Perfume river) is like a stream of shining hair hanging down over the shoulders of a beautiful girl in springtime.
I used to bathe myself in the crystal clear water of the Huong river while staying with my uncle and aunt in a village upstream on summer holidays. I couldn’t swim so I stood in the shallow water to wash away the heat of a summer afternoon and watch many small fishes approaching so close to my feet. On the other side of this section of river, no house was found - only mountains and trees.

It is the place where the last king of Vietnam resigned. Many decades have passed but the aftertaste of royalty and conservativeness does linger everywhere. That’s not what I like about this city. I’m in love with its natural and tranquil scenery.
Until now I still wonder why Hue people wake up so early. Voice of vendors, joggers and travelers are heard from every corner of the villages or towns around four o'clock in the morning. Although I rarely wake up that early to enjoy the quietness of the moment before dawn, I think I adore the freshness hidden itself in the air and on the leaves as the dawn breaks in this small city.

Special, mom, Hue
Today is Vietnam's National Day.My mom and I spent the whole morning to tour Hue Citadel. There were so many people visiting this site as the entrance fee was free of charge. Although it was very hot, people seemed eager to admire the ancient Citadel of Nguyen Dynasty.

We spent most of the time taking photos. And here they are:
My mom and myself (taken by me)

4.Y.Q., diary, Special
My dearest SUN DROP,
Here we are again in the sky! To celebrate this special occasion, let’s bridge a couple of rainbows so neither of them will feel lonely.
Too short is my time with you! My heart is yearning to stop the pace of time so that this moment will be everlasting. All hope is in vain as the rainbows - our links are fading away...
However, as a wise man says, nothing is forever. Don’t waste any second but cherish every moment of happiness.
See ya, dearest! Let me kiss you good bye and hug you tight once again before we meet again.
With so much love,
RAIN DROP

diary, Memories
Hue, October 2, 2007 It was around 5.20 p.m, Hanh- my colleague hurried home to avoid from being stuck in the storm and flood. Before leaving the office, she didn't forget to urge me to rush home as well.
“Ok, I’ll leave in 30 minutes…” I replied indifferently, eyes were still concentrating on the computer screen.
It rained like cat and dog outside and the wind started to blow harder. Looking outside, I got into a panic. Hurriedly shutting down the computer and locked the door, I then headed for home. When I arrived on Phan Chau Trinh Street, the water in the river nearly overflowed and risked to flood the streets along the river. Heavy rain and harsh wind kept beating at my face when I sped up to run away from them. I got soaked to the skin as the raincoat was not wide enough to shelter me from the rain. I trembled to the cold wind and wished that the way to my home had been shorter.

Special, Memories, Feelings, 4.Y.Q.
In a strange city, she came across a man with a lonely look. It was a sunny morning. It’s hard to believe that sunlight and warmth was so abundant in this city, especially when you were in winter. His anguished smile nearly melt her heart away when he showed his hand toward her for a social handshake. She couldn’t remember how the handshake was, but never would she forget his look - so deep and sorrowful.
She started to take a special interest in him, or maybe his look. He was a silent man with small eyes - the eyes which were very common among Chinese, Korean or Japanese people. When she looked into his eyes, the pain which long slept in her heart stirred and tortured her badly. She was completely lost in his solitary look.
