(sông Hương nhìn từ đồi Vọng Cảnh)Huế trong tôi, trong mỗi con người nơi đây là tình yêu bất tận để rồi dù cuộc đời lúc này lúc khác đẩy người ta xa Huế nhưng rồi ai cũng tìm về để soi lại mình trên dòng Hương trong xanh. Người ta trở về để lại được lang thang qua những con đường cành lá đan xen giữa mùa hè nóng bức để lắng lòng nghe tiếng ve kêu rả rích, hay thơ thẩn chiều Kinh Thành để một mảng quá khứ trở về rất gần mà rất xa. Còn đối với khách phương xa, Huế là bài thơ lãng mạn hay là chính cô gái Huế e ấp nghiêng che chiếc nón lá để tránh ánh nhìn ai đang ngây ngất giữa mấy nhịp Trường Tiền.

Banh cuon tomDip it into the fish sauce
Hue is famous for “banh uot thit nuong” - a kind of wrap & roll stuffed with veggies and grilled meat. When I travel, I notice that there were many other types of wrap & roll in other areas. And one of my favorites is “banh cuon tom” - wrap & roll stuffed with veggies and steamed shrimps. I’d like my mom to try this new type of “wrap & roll” so today I made it, especially for her.

Wiwi is a gift from Des to me when he visited Hue last February. Wiwi’s a cute tiger with a long tail and big feet. The first day of Wiwi at my home was not so lucky. Not very long after I put him on the table, I happened to find him in the front yard - stumbled and dirty.

Last Sunday afternoon found a small woman walking along the canal surrounding the Imperial City. The weather was just perfect and she enjoyed it. Half an hour earlier, she was in her narrow attic and played internet games. They were boring and too ... “cyber”, but she had no choice. She was too idle to rise up although she was aware of the fine weather outside - just a few steps from where she was lying.
