A blog for my Huế

The header of my new blog

Dear my friends and the ones who care about me and Huế city,

After thinking hard, I decided to create a blog for my Huế city. It's all about Hue's landscape, people, food and architecture from my perspective. Hope you can spare some time to visit it.

Cheers,
Lan in Huế

I do hope you wont be leaving the opera community, your blog here allows for a wonderful view of your country, its people and places. I have enjoyed it since my beginnings in this community.

I have been fine. Its fall here and is getting chilly, soon there will be snow. I hope you and yours are also well.

Your blog is beautiful. I smile all the time at your wonderful photographic eye. You have a gift of vision as well as words.

Huong Lan Monday, November 1, 2010 1:50:00 PM

Thanks, Clance. I'm glad you like it. smile

I always wish that some day I can see the fall in the US. You know we don't have the fall here in Hue. Only two seasons: rainy and dry. It's rainy season now. It's wet and dark. I don't think I love it (although I've tried to). hix sad

der WandersmannderWandersmann Monday, November 22, 2010 7:24:28 PM

Why do I not find that difficult to believe?

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Tuesday, November 23, 2010 6:56:28 PM

I don't understand why they mess with stuff when they don't have to. confused coffee

Change for the sake of change. These guys would make great screenwriters, "adapting" great literature to the screen.

Hi Lan sister, remember me, that a good idea for anybody who born in Hue, wonderfull site

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Wednesday, November 24, 2010 7:27:34 PM

I still can't get access to my Private Messages. Nuts. mad

Huong Lan Tuesday, December 7, 2010 12:23:57 PM

Hmm, it seems like there are more friends who feel uncomfortable with the changes here. I'm still ok with it.

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Tuesday, December 7, 2010 6:20:32 PM

I would be fine with it if it was working. I have been locked out of my message center ever since they did this new upgrade. coffee

Huong Lan Friday, December 10, 2010 10:05:27 AM

Hmm, that's weird. Mine is ok here. Do you have snow there already? It's sunny but cold in Hue today. I love this kind of weather. smile

Snowing here, now, Lan, and Cap is only across the Lake from me; I reckon he's getting it, too.

Leinie's Red

studio41 Monday, December 13, 2010 10:05:55 AM

we've seen our share, too- stay warm! and safe!

Huong Lan Thursday, December 16, 2010 1:35:54 AM

Hi guys, stay safe and sound. I know sometimes snow causes so much trouble but I still wish to see and touch it one day. It's raining in Hue now. Yesterday it was so sunny and hot. Miss the sunshine. hehehehe

dW, what is that drink? It looks like tea. Thanks for posting the photo so that I can see another "corner of your life". lol

der WandersmannderWandersmann Thursday, December 16, 2010 5:52:18 AM

That drink is a medium-dark beer called "Leinenkugel's Red" ... because Leinenkugel's brewery makes it, and it's a very red colour. It's mild, with a little bite, but not bitter. It's sitting next to an old IBM 386 computer that my son fixed up for really simple work. The monitor on top is one I just got rid of because I have too many. The thing on the left is a Lexmark printer that still works, and sticking in at the bottom left is the butt-end of my Intellipoint trackball ... I prefer trackballs because they don't make me keep my table as clean as a mouse does.
And all are sitting on a walnut sofa table that my grandfather had made in about 1910.

Huong Lan Friday, December 24, 2010 10:20:49 AM

Wow, everything is so old and the good thing is they still work. smile

Merry Christmas, dW. Wish the coming year brings you happiness, love and success. smile

My message center has not worked since Opera "updated".... down

Huong Lan Friday, January 21, 2011 12:12:30 PM

Tyler, hi! I haven't logged in Opera for a long time. I was traveling to the North of VN. I'll upload some photos I took up there later. smile

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Friday, January 21, 2011 5:49:02 PM

So much is going on in my own family right now, it has been hard for me to get on a computer very much, but I am trying.
My Message Center still does not work! coffee

Huong Lan Sunday, January 23, 2011 7:49:45 AM

I see. Hope to chat with you some time, Tyler. Miss your voice. bigsmile

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Sunday, January 23, 2011 7:44:51 PM

When I finally get around to getting my own computer... cry

I am pretty limited to what I can do on these library computers.
