my mom
After work, I rode home to pick my mom up. We headed for flower fair taking place in front of Phu Van Lau - the renowned pavilion facing Huong river. Many people were there when we arrived. My mom was interested in the thousands of pots of various flowers. She wondered how the farmers could sell all of them, but I know they will. Hue people live in harmony with nature, and they especially love flowers.
This Tet, I intend to buy two pots of yellow chrysanthemum. I believe that the flowers’ bright color will make our house cozier. However, I’m waiting for the price to go down a little bit as they are still very expensive now. Last Tet, mom and I bought two pots of flowers on the last day of the flower fair, and they were very cheap. Other people had their flowers transported home by cyclo; but I rode my mom together with the flowers home. It was troublesome, of course, but I was happy because I could save a small amount of money.
Trang - my colleague joined us at the flower fair, and we three admired beautiful flowers, and enjoyed taking photos. When it got darker, more and more people came to the fair. We decided to leave for Lien Hoa - my favorite vegetarian restaurant, and had hot pot for the dinner. The food was fresh and hot. I teased my mom: “How happy you are, mom! You can enjoy delicious food and nice music with the ones that you love and love you!” She beamed. I know she was happy.
After dining, we said goodbye to Trang to go to Hue Plaza. I wished to buy her new clothes like the way she did to me when I was a little girl. She was afraid that I could not afford the items that she chose so she kept asked me how much they cost. Poor my dear mom - the only sun of my life! To console her, I said: “No worries, mom. I can buy you anything you like. I’m rich, you know.” And we both laughed heartily.

@ Pam: Thanks. Life was hard for her when I was younger. I'm glad that I can make her happy now although I know nothing I've done can compensate for what she gave away.
@ Johnnie: Thanks. I will pass your greetings to my mom. She will be happy to become known in My Opera.
