Centered in the most funky area of backpackers in Hue city, Healing the Wounded Heart (HWH) is known of the souvenir shop of kind hearts, creativity and environment friendliness.
40% of revenue from the business is for paying the handicapped artisans, and the other 40% is transferred to OGCDC for supporting the children with heart operation.
After almost 2 months since the opening, HWH has supported five cases of heart operation. The staff are speeding up the sales so that more children with heart diseases can be cured, and leading a healthy life.
“Normal people helps the unlucky ones, which is a really good deed. That the handicapped working to support the poor children with heart diseases is amazing and really heart-touching,” admired Huong, a young lady who happened to stop by HWH shop.
HWH also attracts people with its various well-designed items such as colorful telephone wire knitted bowls with a spiral pattern, Batik bookmarks, bed covers and table runner with Hmong textile, etc. With the talent of the handicapped artisans, the familiar bamboo baskets turned into a lively and interesting souvenir with only one twist - wrapping the bamboo flat sticks with colorful recycled snack-bags. Moreover, you will be amazed by the portable photo frames made from beer, or coke cans or the shoulder bags tailored from the throwaway water bottles.
With the effort of recycling the throwaways such as snack bags, cans, and water bottles, HWH is trying to keep a clean and litter-free world for all of us.
With each item you buy at HWH, you not only help to save children with heart disease, and inspire the handicapped artisans but you can also distribute to the environmental protection. So why not visit HWH and “shop with your heart, shop to give back”?
