Lan Huế

"lt always is darkest before sunrise"

My dear Nich lost

My dear Nich was caught by the bad people (dog-eaters) last night! I'm shocked and heart-broken. He's my best friend. "Your mother is the sun, and Nich is your moon", Y.Q. used to tell me.

Now that I'm without Nich. Feel empty.

I miss your cute eyes. Don't you know, Nich?

Love you always...

Yes, sir! Got to go to bed now. I had a hard time today. So much work...

Glenn Utt 24. December 2008, 01:26

Seems like you just went to bed! Remember I was talking about tucking you in!? Wow! Does time fly! Sleep well my dear! See you when the sun comes up (Christmas Eve). I don't think we have discussed whether you celebrate Christmas or not! Do you?

Huong Lan 24. December 2008, 03:03

I'm Buddhist so I don't really celebrate Christmas. But I'll have a day-off!!! Horay!

Chuc Glenn Giang Sinh vui ve!

Glenn Utt 24. December 2008, 04:44

Well "teach" I have a day off from my lesson then! haha Now I know why you like me! I remind you of Buda! However, I am not able to cross my legs like that! Just so you know, by saying these things, I am surely not making fun of Budism. And if it was wrong for me to say please delete, Lan! To be true, I have always admired the way worshiping is done at the several times of day! If Christians respected and revered Jesus/God/Holy Ghost in that manner, it would be a better world! So, Happy Day Off!

Minette 3. January 2009, 22:18

I am SO sorry about this. My heart breaks to share your pain.
I am sad and angry too. I am not worried, just sharing.

Huong Lan 4. January 2009, 06:49

Thanks for sharing the pain with me, Minette. I believe that Nich is happy whenever he is...

Wish you a nice Sunday!

Lan

Minette 4. January 2009, 14:34

Sharing pain is what makes it more bearable yes?
I know Nich is happy somewhere too.
God takes care of the animals.
Wish you a nice Sunday also

min

Huong Lan 5. January 2009, 02:14

Yes, I think so.

It's a sunny Monday morning in where I am now. Good night to you, Min.

Glenn Utt 5. January 2009, 04:16

It is 11:15 PM in Florida, but I can see you beaming Lan! You must be sunning yourself in the rays this day and New Year---did I wish you a Happy New Year, other than in my Blog and in my heart?!
Hi min, best wishes to you too!

Minette 5. January 2009, 04:32

Hi uttopia, thank you and God bless you

Huong Lan 5. January 2009, 13:38

Glenn, thanks. The sun was shining today, which I had been waiting for ages. Hopefully, tomorrow i can see him again.

Glenn Utt 5. January 2009, 16:52

Do think there is any possibility that my hopes for your sun to return has any affect?! If so, here is another wish for your tomorrow!
min, I will not forsake my "old" friends! haha (that means long time friends haha).

Minette 5. January 2009, 16:56

Glad to hear it :D

Huong Lan 6. January 2009, 00:28

@Glenn: It's raining today, Glenn. I have better warm myself with the sunshine remaining in me. :D Got to work now. Good night!

@Min: Hi Min, hope you have started a great week.

Minette 6. January 2009, 00:35

I have Lan thank you! And for you too I hope. Rain brings life...I try to remember that when I'm missing the sun. We have snow and ice coming...but then it is winter LOL.
I have quite a bit of work this week, I am thankful for that.

Glenn Utt 6. January 2009, 03:20

I know there is a lot of sun within you, Lan! I always see it beaming from your face! We must agree with min, about the life giving rain, but I always like my rain to be at night, don't you. (seldom happens that way I am afraid)!

Huong Lan 6. January 2009, 07:03

Yeah, rain brings life...

Glenn Utt 6. January 2009, 07:08

I think you want to be a science teacher instead of English! haha

Huong Lan 6. January 2009, 07:12

Hey, it's already 2:10 am in the morning there. How come you are still awake? Or you have woken up? You should spend more time sleeping. I always go to bed at 10 pm and wake up at around 6 am.

Good night to you Glenn (or good morning? )

Glenn Utt 6. January 2009, 14:27

I was only up to bring you sunshine, my dear! Don't worry. I get 6 hours sleep usually! haha I know, I know, Mother! haha

Huong Lan 6. January 2009, 14:31

:D I'm not a mama. I'm too in love with the sunshine to love a baby, especially an elder one.

Glenn Utt 6. January 2009, 14:35

Well you sure have your hands full, in ME! haha

Huong Lan 6. January 2009, 14:41

Got to go to bed now. Feel exhausted...

Good morning to you!

Glenn Utt 6. January 2009, 14:57

Good night Mommie Lan! haha I will miss you while you sleep!

Huong Lan 7. January 2009, 03:22

:yikes:

Glenn Utt 7. January 2009, 04:31

I looks like, from your smiley, that you did not sleep all that well! Better luck next time! haha
whisper---that was cute, by the way!!!A  in fact!

Huong Lan 7. January 2009, 08:03

Whatever!

Glenn Utt 7. January 2009, 09:19

Lan, I love that too! I picked up a auto plate like people put on the front on their vehicles with their name or whatever, that says "whatever"! haha. It says a lot, doesn't it?
I know, 4:15 AM here, but I just have to say "whatever" to my lil' sunshine! haha I know, I know you are a giant old girl now! Still, you are lil' to me! haha Good more night!

Huong Lan 7. January 2009, 13:44

You seem like an early riser. Have you found any worms? :D

Glenn Utt 7. January 2009, 16:40

They too are asleep and the ones on the other side of this globe of ours are out of reach! haha Hi, my dear teacher!

Huong Lan 8. January 2009, 12:49

Glenn Utt 8. January 2009, 18:03

Did you give up on me regarding Viet lessons, teach'? I know you find me hopeless! I don't blame you! A very sunny rest of the day to you, Lan!

Huong Lan 9. January 2009, 02:51

Well, I don't think I'm good at teaching tieng Viet as it's too difficult! But I will think about it. :D

Thanks for the wish of sunshine but it's rainy and cold here...

Glenn Utt 9. January 2009, 04:11

I am sure you are a good teacher, but a good student, I am not! I do enjoy having the common words and phrases from you, as we were doing. I have kept a record of the ones so far and you must remember when you wrote your first Hello or such! Was it not pleasing to do? Anyway, there are many other things to say and do!
I am very disappointed that someone like me, enjoying everyday sunshine, can not pass some of it on to you! Actually, we need to trade the weather patterns as our nice plants may not survive this lack of rain here!! We have not been able to water them with the city supply of water, as something has happened to our house water pressure! They seem to think that our supply pipe is corroding, so that the water is not getting through. If so, this is a giant job to replace pipe from the street to the house as we have two giant oak trees right in the path!

Huong Lan 9. January 2009, 15:10

You sound like a teacher to me. :D

Thanks for thinking about me when you are enjoying sunshine. What you are saying is like sunbeams to me. Cam on, Glenn.

Glenn Utt 9. January 2009, 15:19

Thanks to me only if it works, Lan---to bring you sunshine. Is this your rainy season? Will you have days of rain? How can I share with you? Last night was the coolest this week, today it warms up and will be hot even tomorrow (almost summer hot). I feel like I am teasing you with this talk, but I am only letting you imagine it for yourself!
It is Friday so: cuoi tuan vui ve!

Huong Lan 9. January 2009, 15:25

Hah, you are a smart and lovely hoc tro (student)! I'm so proud!

Right, it's rainy season here. It has been raining continually last month and this month. From time to time, the sun came out and hid himself in the thick cloud. But today, there was only a little rain. That's good enough!

Glenn Utt 9. January 2009, 19:07

hoc tro, huh! I cheated by looking it up, you know "lil' teach"!

I have seen movies depicting how continuous rainy it is! But that is why you have such beautiful foliage!

Huong Lan 10. January 2009, 03:42

Hi "big" hoc tro, it's not a test so you can look it up. :D There's no rain this morning but it's freezing cold. Waiting for the sun to come out...

Glenn Utt 10. January 2009, 04:33

Freezing cold!!!!I thought it never got below steamy there! I am really getting an education! haha A BIG hoc tro of several subjects--vui ve hoc tro of Huong Lan!

Huong Lan 10. January 2009, 04:36

In Vietnamese, adj stands behind noun so you should say: "hoc tro vui ve cua Huong Lan" (a happy student of Huong Lan). :D

For freezing cold, it's just a way of saying. :d It's about 20 degree C here. Got to take a nap now. Chuc Glenn ngu ngon!

Glenn Utt 10. January 2009, 04:39

I wondered about that order--try to do better next time! Good night my fair lady!

Huong Lan 10. January 2009, 11:49

Glenn Utt 10. January 2009, 20:53

You are rested now I take it! Do I need to bring my umbrella today or look like this

Huong Lan 11. January 2009, 14:30

Good news! Mr Sun has shown up here in Hue! We had a perfect weather. Hooooray! How is your weekend?

Glenn Utt 11. January 2009, 15:48

I got a clock, Lan, at a yard sale that is supposed to show the time in different time zones. Like I would finally know what time it is in Viet without Googling! But, I can not figure how to set the darned thing! Too many functions! (has AM/FM and CD too!!I have been pushing buttons for half an hour! I am usually good at such things!
Wow I am happy with your weather report. There is supposed to be a 30 degree change to near freezing here tonight!

Steve 12. January 2009, 21:21

Lan, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. We, too, have had beloved pets we lost by being stolen. Our pain lasted a long time, but finally found relief in other things. I hope you can find relief. Remember the happy times you had together.
love to you and yours,
steve

Huong Lan 13. January 2009, 03:40

@Glenn: You don't have to google it. Our time zone is GMT + 7. Seven is a lovely number, right? :D

@Steve: Thanks, Steve. I feel better now. But I still miss him so much. He's simply a handsome, clever and good friend of mine...

Glenn Utt 13. January 2009, 04:43

Are you telling me just to add 7 hours to my time? What is GMT? Greenwitch Time? I am on EST! Don't know how many hours to add for EST toe GMT, "teach"!
