Lan Huế

Jauh dimata, dekat dihati.

An amiable researcher

,

In my life, I have met many different people but very few left such a great impression in me like the way Mr. Ho did. He’s a very dedicated antique collector and researcher. Besides, he’s easy-going and humorous, which amuses anyone who has ever talked to him.

If you wish to know more about him and his giant collection, please find a story about him here or you may take a look at his blog in Vietnamese at http://my.opera.com/hotanphan/blog/.

I have so enjoyed both the pictures and the written portrayal of your friend Mr Ho, his collections and views. Thank you!

We must look at the past in order to see where we are going. Mr Ho is a wise man. In the third grade I had a teacher I cannnot forget, a Mrs. Berlin. Many teachers, I can't remember their names, but Mrs. Berlin made me learn my Math Tables. I long as I can remember what 7 x 7 equals, I won't forget her name.

I think it is Sunday where you are. My Saturday has been typical...
gotta do the chores. It is funny...you don't know what will stay with you from what you learned in school. I completed High School in 1968. One of my classes was, of all things, typing! Ta Dah! I hope we can be friends some more.

Hi Tyler,

Of course, I'd love to be your friend.

Right now, I'm writing a story about sampan people in my hometown. To be honest, it's not easy for me to express myself in English. Any way, I must go ahead. Practice makes perfect, doesn't it?

Good day.

Ah... another writer! I am a writer also. Your command of English is pretty good. I write fiction novels. It started as therapy, but now I am serious about it.

Tyler,

I think I'm lucky to get to know a writer like you. I guess I'll need your help some time.

Best,
Lan

June 17, actually. It was also my grandmother's. She now has been around the Sun 101 times.

By Captivevet, # 24. June 2008, 01:59:54

avatar
Wow, that's great that you have the same date of birth with your grandmother. My mom and I also celebrate the same birthday. It's not because we shared the same birthday but she doesn't know her birthday...

June 17 was my ex secretary's birthday and also another friend Ivy and June 18 is my anniversary......

I really enjoyed reading it.

Ms Lan is also a writer. I look forwards to reading her stuff soon.

Hi Angel, thanks for visiting my blog. I'm glad you like it.

Hi Tyler, thanks but I'm not a writer. :o:

Wish you two a nice weekend. It's too hot here to write anything new. P:

You are a writer. Don't put your light under a barrel. Are you doing anything interesting?

By Captivevet, # 26. July 2008, 13:45:57

avatar
You're so nice to me!

Well, anything interesting? Perhaps no. I'm trying to finish my scholarship application. So boring, I must say. P:

By Huong Lan, # 26. July 2008, 14:16:45

How many pages is it? Twenty or thirty? They deliberately design those things to be "obtuse". If you are feeling frustrated by the experience, I can understand why.

By Captivevet, # 26. July 2008, 14:19:19

avatar
I only have to write 3 essays (about 400 words/each) but the topics are so boring for me. P:

By Huong Lan, # 26. July 2008, 14:30:47

avatar
I like your "moxie". "Only three essays". The trick I think, is to make them not boring, unless they are supposed to be boring. It could be tricky.

By Captivevet, # 26. July 2008, 21:22:50

avatar
Yeah, I have no choice but make it more interesting. :D

Have a nice Saturday night, Tyler!

Hi Lan: It is now Sunday morning over here. Of course I am drinking coffee. My Saturday was excellent, I went to a county fair and took some pictures while I was there. When you have the time, you should look at them.:coffee:
