Visiting Lion City

A country girl like me never likes any crowded places where life is fast, and people always look busy or are in a hurry. However, I think I have already fallen for Lion City - one of the most hectic cities in the world.
Lion City or Singapore is a city-state country. It’s even smaller than my hometown - Thua Thien Hue province. I have never seen so many people stuffed in such a tiny place. But I find out that Singapore is so small yet so big. If you intend to come here, and search for someone you lost, you will fail, I’m sure. How can you find him in such a dense concrete jungles like Singapore. No way!
Visiting Singapore, I’ve been in a civilized country. It’s so much clean, and everything is in order. You don’t need a policeman to watch you all the time. People, with different cultures, get used to this order, and they feel comfortable with it, I guess. I can tell you that I’ve learned so much from this country.
Surveying the professional ways Singapore people promote their tourism, I feel a little bit sad when looking back my own country’s tourism. In Vietnam, we have so many beautiful places and diversified cultures, but we do not seem very successful in making them attractive to tourists.
As Trang, Vu and I were warmly welcomed by Defi, Des, and Warren, I felt like at home. They let us try different things which excited me so much. They fed us with decent food, showed us cheap shopping area, and brought us to fascinating destinations.
When I was staying in Singapore, one of the most impressive dinners was at Des’s parents’ house in Clementi. It was especially prepared by Des’s mother. She treated us a big feast, which made me feel so warm at heart. We enjoyed the duck meat, fish ball soup, fried chicken, stir-fried veggies, fried tofu and chilli paste (which Trang loved so much).
Four days and three nights in Singapore past so fast. There are still many places and things I wish to visit and discover. But I know I will visit Lion City again one day. Until then, I have to save money first.
Please find more photos of my Singapore trip here.

I'm so glad you and Des are sharing your photos of your trips.
As to the tourism in Vietnam, I think it will change in the next five years. As more and more people visit, word will get around what a beautiful country it is. I only wish I would have bought a small painting while I was there. My daughter-in-law gave me a beautiful tea set and decorative plate set and I was so worried something would get broken on the trip home. She packed it very well for me and it made it home safely.

@Pam: Hi Pam, yeah, I was surprised to see these fruit and veggies stalls in Singapore.
I did not intend to visit Singapore so soon but my colleague could get really cheap tickets so we three flied to Singapore together.
You are right about the tourism in Vietnam. I'll do my part to make Vietnam known to people in the rest of the world. Am I too ambitious?
