Nada Surf...
First they wanted to be “Nada” but the name was already taken so they became Nada Surf… meaning surfing on nothing.
The New York origin band has three members Matthew Caws (guitar, vocals) , Ira Elliot (drums) and Daniel Lorca (bass).
Nada Surf made their breakthrough with a song “Popular” which has been their greates hit so far. From earlier albums I also recommend “Always Love” and “Inside of Love”. Their songs have been used in several TV shows... The O.C., One Tree Hill, Heroes, The Riches...
I discovered NS for myself thanks to movie “John Tucker Must Die” where I heard the song "I Like What You Say" which I like the most of their latest album “Lucky”.
Lucky was released February 5, 2008 in the USA and day before in Europe. Its Nada Surfers fifth studio album and also their best if u ask me. Sure it’s a matter of taste but I like the song I Like What You Say the most... maybe it’s cuz I found the band hearing that song or maybe it’s cuz it really is the best song of the album! 
Original release of Lucky contains 11 tracks but there’s also bonus cd with 4 songs... and the french release had bonus song "Je t'attendais".I started thinking with who I can compare them and I came up with one name... Nada Surf
