Wiiware Exclusive: LostWinds

, ,

Wiiware has finally launched yesterday in America with a nice assortment of 3rd party games. But the only game I was really interested in was Lost Winds ( but I might get "Defend Your Castle" too!), which is an interesting action/adventure game from the British developer Frontier. After buying the game for 1000 Wii Points, I went straight to playing it! I have to say it's pretty cool experience, as the main theme of the game is controlling the winds with your Wiimote. As you progress farther through the game, you'll gain new abilities such as slipstream which will allow you to guide fire or water to either destroy your enemies and vortex, which will allow you to spin objects and enemies in mid air so you can throw them with high velocity (with the wind) to break certain doors. I've really enjoyed what I've played so far, and am certain it will get better the further I go. If you've been looking for a good original action/adventure title to download onto your Wii, you should totally download LostWinds, you won't regret it! But if your not convinced, than simply check out a video preview of the game on the Nintendo Channel on your Nintendo Wii (don't bother waiting to get this game for the pc, it's a Nintendo Wii Exclusive!). You can go here for a more detailed description of the game: Frontier

Neverball

Neverball is basically a freeware clone of Monkey Ball minus the monkeys. The game is pretty good in my opinion and best played with the analog stick, as your able to get more precision and more subtle movements. You can get the game for free for all 3 platforms here: Neverball

Tormishire

From the same creators who brought you Robotopia, come an adventure game you've...ok..enough of the cliche intro. Anyways, not much is know about the game besides the info the site provided. All I know is that the game looks cool and it isn't out yet. So if this game interests you, you'll just have to wait. Also, this game is probably only available for Windows. For more info if this game, just go here: Tormishire

Robotopia

, ,

Robotopia is an action adventure game with some rpg stat upgrading capabilities. You play as a battle bot and you have to go through each level and basically kill everything in sight. But it ain't no button mash fest, there is a level of strategy involved. You can actually preform some pretty cool moves by pushing certain buttons in a certain order and certain time. This game also has an online mode where you can verse others in either a game of capture the flag or an all out brawl. You can get the demo, get more info, and buy this game here: Robotopia

Astro Avenger 2

,

A sequel to the first one, Astro Avenger 2 is a alot more prettier than the first one and more fun. The game allows you to upgrade your ship, buy weapons, and buy robotic assistances. There are a total of 50 levels which span over 5 worlds. The game plays much like every top-down shooter out there. You can get more info of this game and download here: Divo Games

Nimble Bit's latest work

Zero Gear basic gameplay: tag-fest! from marshmonkey on Vimeo

The creators of Zero Gear has been hard at work creating new items and modes. Here's a vid of their latest test of the new game mode called Tag Mode, which is basically the game of "Tag, your it!", but with karts! You can go here for the latest news of their game: Nimble Bit

FLaiL

,

FLaiL as it's called, is the latest creation of the same person who created "An Untitled Story" and the Jumper series. FLaiL is a physics based platformer featuring 80 levels and up to 3 player co-op. As you progress, you'll be finding out that you'll be dieing alot and probably blaming the game :D. Well luckily, there's an option in the game that will actually show exactly where you died. So you won't (hopefully) make the same mistake again. You can get the game for free here: Helix Games

ZAP is back in action!

,

A while ago i've made a post about ZAP and unfortunately at that time, the game was pretty much dead. No one was really online and just playing with bots can get a bit boring. Now ZAP has came back on Instant Action, the game has been updated graphically, there are new game modes, and the gameplay has changed a bit. But now since it's on instant action, the map mode and the voice chat are no longer there. But since it's on Instant Action, host a match is alot easier than it was. Because now you can simply host a match without setting up your connection, and if you want a match to continue without you if you chose to turn off your pc, you can simply give someone else the hosting privilege so that the match can continue without you. You can play this and many other games for free when you sign up for Instant Action (if you haven't already): Instant Action
