Based on the Cube 1 engine, AssaultCube is somewhat a equivalent of the very popular Counter Strike, but freeware instead. All the mode you'd expect from an FPS are there (capture the flag, deathmatch, one hit kills a.k.a instagib). I've had some fun with this game, the online play is good too. Uhh... the age rating is just to inform the readers that the following game is suggested for those who are over the age of 17. I personally give it a rating based upon what i've played just for my blog. I general only post ratings for game that have a more mature theme. I just don't want to get criticized by angry parents. About the engine, here's what it says on the site, "AssaultCube, formerly ActionCube, is a free first-person-shooter based on the game Cube. Set in a realistic looking environment, as far as that´s possible with this engine". That paragraph is from the official site. It mentions nothing about a redesign. I just base my info from what I read and play.
