It's an Enigma!

, , ,

Enigma is a free puzzle game where the goal is to uncover matching pairs of symbols called Oxyd stones. I know it sounds easy, but the game is actually quite challenging. There are well over 1000 levels to amuse and confuse you for quite a while. This game has been featured on such sites as The Linux Tome and the IndieGames.com-The Weblog. You can get the latest version here: Enigma

Neverball

Neverball is basically a freeware clone of Monkey Ball minus the monkeys. The game is pretty good in my opinion and best played with the analog stick, as your able to get more precision and more subtle movements. You can get the game for free for all 3 platforms here: Neverball

LoonyLand 2: Winter Woods

, ,

Don't let the rather simple graphics fool you, LoonyLand 2 is a pretty darn fun (action rpg) game! In the game, you play as Dr.Lunatic, a crazy mad scientist. This game is the squeal to the first part (LoonyLand: Halloween Hill) game which I didn't like as much as this one, but it doesn't mean it ain't good. Anyways, the game costs $24.95 (the download version) but you can get the CD version for $32.95+ shipping ( which includes alot more content). Now is it worth the price tag? Well, after what I played, the game seems to be worth it. But than again, that's my opinion. You just have to play it yourself. You can get more info and downloads of this and other games, here: Hamumu Games

Blender 3D

, , , ...

Blender 3D is a totally open source (totally free) 3D program. Which allows you to create and animate your own 3D ( that includes a built-in game creator) creation with tons of tools and options to help you along the way, what you create is only limited to your imagination. But of course the interface takes time to learn. But luckily there are links to tutorials available on the site to help you understand the program and it's great amount of options and tools which will first be a bit intimidating, but as you learn, they will become familiar. I think it's great that there are people out there willing to create such high quality software for nothing, for people who don't have the money to buy the expensive commercial equivalents (adobe, 3DMax, etc) or just don't want spend over $1000.00 US Dollars on a program. You can get the program for all pc platforms here: Blender 3D
Here's the tutorial available on the site i'm currently using:

LinCity (Linux City) is a freeware clone of the popular SimCity but open source and for all 3 pc platforms. Like SimCity, you build and manage your own town by building structures, trade goods, clear out space to build more building, create streams, lakes, rivers, etc. You'll also may deal with natural and unnatural disasters  . From what I played, the game seems quite interesting. The interface is easy to navigate, the controls are simple, the stats are easy to understand and the overall game is just wonderful ! If you want a game thats close to SimCity that is free, than try this game out! Visit the page here to get the game: LinCity

Harvest them ALL!

, , ,

Harvest: Massive Encounter
Harvest is a arcade styled real time strategy game, but in this game you don't manage any military or monster units. Instead this game play much more like a tower defense game except you're not defending a tower, you are defending your harvest site. When you first start the game (depends on which mode you choose). You'll first notice 3 (sometimes 2) funny looking structures, they are the solar power plants, they supply the power to the units you will be using. There are 5 different unit you'll be using while playing. Each of them play a different role which will help you on your mission but one of most important ones is the harvest units. The harvest units basically harvest material, which earns you money that allows you to spend on defense, power units, and more harvesters which gives you more money to get more units which will help you defend yourself from the alien invaders and get you more money. I had quite alot of fun with this game, it's easy to get into, but hard to master! You can play a free demo of the game which allows you to play two modes, but if you want the full game, it'll cost ya $24.99.
