Wii Review: LostWinds

Just yesterday i've given you a preview of LostWinds, and now that i've completed the game today. I'm ready to pass my judgment upon this title. You start out the game with a sleeping kid named Toku and you must wake him up with the winds (which is controlled by your Wiimote). After a bit of walking and falling(hint), you soon discover a stone with a trapped spirit named Enril and he tells you how he ended up in a spirt stone. Basically Enril tried to trap a spirit named Balasar, but when trying to do so, Enril got trapped too! Enril tried to calm the spirit Balasar, but to no avail. Balasar weakened the stone and got out while Enril remained trapped! Now your mission is to some how find the spirit Balasar, but unfortunately Enril is too weak and no one knows where Balasar could be.
Fortunately, throughout your adventure, you'll encounter new abilities which will help you solve puzzles and reach unreachable areas. Such powers include slipstream, which will help you guide fire to burn blocked passages and enemies. But or course , there are many more powers (such as vortex) for you to discover and use! I have to say this game is unlike anything i've ever played before, it's quite refreshing to play something original and new. The game play is excellent, as the controls are easy to master. The best aspect of the game of course is controlling the winds, which is as easy to control with a push of a button and a flick of the wrist. You'll be throwing enemies against walls with ease in no time! Now, the only thing some may not like about the game, is that it's short. It will only take you 3 hours to complete, but than again it's a cheap game (only 1000 points) and to have such wonderful graphics, does take alot of memory even with compression. Either way, those 3 hours of LostWinds was well worth it and there are plans on making of a sequel!
