I stand alone in the darkness. The winter of my life came so fast. Memories go back to childhood - to days I still recall. Oh, how happy I was then. There was no sorrow, there was no pain. Walking through the green fields, sunshine in my eyes.

I'm still there, everywhere, I'm the dust in the wind, I'm the star in the northern sky !
I never stayed anywhere, I'm the wind in the trees, would you wait for me forever?

Would you wait for me forever? Will you wait for me forever?

Timo Kotipelto ROCKS THE METAL !!!!!!!

Here arre my 2014 New Year Composites for the month of January 2014.

my homepage for PictureTrail is: http://www.picturetrail.com/icu109
you can only have a few albums hosted there, however.
Most of my blogging will be on WordPress.org(the free site I think is .org) I am icu109. I have a webs (used to be freewebs.com) site where I am icu109, I will start my html stuff I like there, maybe add a site to my account. I have Kathys' Best Exotic Bird Resources on freewebs.com/icu109 there. Been there a long time, my first 20 page website. I am kathy.boulier on facebook though I rarely get up overthere. I am kfboulier on G+ I think, I'll have to round up the web addresses for those interested. Losing friends in 96 countries is weighing on me. I discovered music and much much more through friends here. Stratovarius, love that group, found through one of my VietNamese friends' sites who had a zing player like the one I got like his playing Forever like I have here. On my.opera site /flapper1 I have "If the Story is Over" by stratovarius playing on a zing player and I have him to thank.

Here are composites I made in June 2013. If you go to my.opera.com/flapper1 you will see new albums, flash and my profile I created when I filled the album space here on ICU109. Enjoy, you haven't seen new albums here for 6 months so I did you a PictureTrail.com flash show.

Back in 2002 our Landscaping and Garden Pond Totally Rocked ! Here is the scenery in Video.

As a retired nurse, I have a decided interest in everything scientific. My main love is the archaeological progress in mapping the ascent of man through the depths of prehistorical evidence. The new field of marine archeology as researched and annotated by Graham Hancock in his exceptional books Underworld address this interest. His book Supernatural discusses the roots and commencement of our religious beliefs. NOT a Sunday School story, for sure. The Opera Community has afforded me a widened interest arena especially in the music category. For instance, I had never heard of Stratovarius. My first exposure was on an Opera friends' site with the song Forever. Applicable to this old lady who missed her 40th high school reunion in Gary, Indiana cuz I was not well enough to even make the trip, is the line in the song: The Winter of My Life Came So Fast. Good God in Heaven - Timo Kotipelto reached out and dug this right out of my head, I swear... all my fears and insecurities and anxieties in one line of a song!!!! So, I have it featured today on my Zing player. If you want to play the other videos I have, just click the speaker icon on the Zing Player a couple times to disable it thereby affording you the opportunity to hear their song, Serenity, for instance. I am hooked. Then the Final Fantasy XIII Vs game - heard the Somnus song in Latin on a website a year or so back and now am hooked on the songs from the game as well as Noct and Stella and little by little getting a bit of the storyline. Don't have a PS3 or a PS anything. I'm 58 for godsake with 4 grown kids and 6 grandbabes. WHY don't they make a freakin movie out of this? I would LOVE it. So, below I also have a few videos of THAT passion. Enjoy. Oh - JUST found there will be a TINKERBELL MOVIE !!!! Here is a preview:

It was just like yesterday, When you chose to leave and I to stay. It was a warm and sunny day, But my heart felt as heavy as stone. Never told me where you went; Then again I never tried to ask. Now I know in life you have one chance, and you better use it well. When the mountains fall And the oceans flood, I'm still in search of you. Only thing I want to say: I'm still in love with you. Finally I found your place. Sadly I came three summers late. Now I am sitting by your grave, and I sing this song for you: When the mountains fall And the oceans flood, I'm still in search of you. Only thing I want to say: I'm still in love with you. One last thing I have to say: I'm still in love with you!

Our son has had an illustrious career in the USAF. Recently he completed his PhD and a promotion to Lt Col is forthcoming. We are very proud of him. A few years ago we had the opportunity to travel to Edwards AFB to attend his graduation from Test Pilot School....a stepping stone in his career. He enjoyed his work there immensely. This video is my tribute to my son, Michael, for all his hard work, sacrifice, and unwavering loyalty to the AF and his family. He is now a Lt. Colonel in the AF. I love you forever, Michael. mom

This Rickey Smiley Prank Call has been around a long time - classic LOL !!!
The Cryan' Shames was a ChicagoLand band of the 60's popular in the area. Their big nationwide hit was "Sugar and Spice" but their albums Synthesis and A Scratch in the Sky gained cult status in the greater ChicagoLand area. Here is a song I made into a video by The Cryan' Shames....called "Your Love" featuring my family and friends.
One of my favorite Cryan' Shames songs is Baltimore Oriole. Enjoy this I made.
Another Favorite from Synthesis by Cryan'Shames: A Masters' Fool

My work

Patient care is in the past, thank goodness; but the call light is ever in the grips of many entities in my domain: a sweet pup Miss Panda Bear- half Shih-Tzu and half JRT (Jack Russell Terrior) or what we used to call Fox Terrier or Terror what the case may be - white with black eye and ears, an insane yellow nape amazon parrot, a genius congo african grey parrot, a german roller canary with a sweet song, a blue quaker and a green quaker parrot. They forever beckon for attention. One or more perch near or on me as I surf and write. Here are pics of the staff. Except for Beauregard Burnside III, my German Roller Canary, haven't gotten a pic of him yet.

I loved designing MySpace layouts back in the day. Just did it for learning to code and sanity. Looks like that's changing, HTML takes up too much space apparently. FaceBook, like it not so much; you can't change it too much and all the little stupid games etc get on my last nerve. SOOOOOO juvenile. AND is it just me or is every freaking registrable website now using Facebook login????? I smell a damn rat. Twitter is inane. The only way that works for me is when it is in the grips of HLN News or other INTELLIGENT platforms. Most Twitterers or Twitteries or whatever have nothing of import to say. I have many interests within the huge arena of the internet. Much of my interest is captured by images and page layout. The social networks only interest me when they can offer me diversion in the form of design challenges.
Then came the Opera Community where I can have it all....creative outlet and social community with a brain, at least most of them. I expect some level of intelligence if someone wants to communicate. I am not 11 or 22 or what not. I 60+ and a retired professional with many interests and a lifetime of constant reading and learning. Obsessive compulsive by nature, I stay at something till I pretty much burn it out and learn all I can about it. I see the same level in many of my contacts here. Carry the torch!!!!! My learning is being sidetracked and I am not happy about that. I have limited time on this earth and still have not mastered the new physics, The Theory of Everything, the meaning of sonnets, (big ideas in small boxes?) and how the instruments in orchestras parts are written to coincide so perfectly. Well, at least most. I feel a need to KNOW everything, not just a bit about a lot but a lot about more than a bit. An obsession. I'm sidetracked by anxiety, short attention span r/t it, noise, distracting movements and sensations, and I'm pissed off at this body which is distracting my mind from its' mission. I feel I need solid silence, no air movement, perfect temperature, no responsibility, no distractions but books, internet, Google Scholar. Maybe a relocation is needed - actually planning to move to Salt Lake City this summer to be close to some family. Need something other than this life I am dying a day at a time in this place. This has nothing and everything to do with "MY WORK". My nursing career simply started with my obsession for learning physiology, pathology, etc, and became a career. Then the learning, which didn't stop, morphed into a career of sorts, top of the hospital into the ICU I plunged, Came out war ravaged 15 years later to try agency, nursing homes, and a nice burnout. This is how my art began, quiet retired at home...with MySpace layouts, symmetry, themes, nice..HTML/CSS...nice. then Freewebs, wow, made a website or two. Called Webs now, still 2 sites up, rarely updated now due to my obsession with Opera (leaving me stranded now) and Pictify (my art mainstay - pictify.com/user/icu109). A few years ago along came a decision to learn PaintDotNet. Did it. Now I can fluff the composites made there with Photoshop, and PSPx4 Ultimate and a few other neat programs. I have DAZ, but time that I can concentrate to learn 3D is limited. Trying to learn animated gifs like these:

Why I choose the Opera browser

It is much faster than the weighty Firefox which I used for years due to the complete absence of pop ups which plagued IE in the 90s and through the first half of the 2000s when I switched to FF. But FF was FOREVER crashing. I tried the newer IE versions as FF was slowing down due to the loading of its' extra components which were supposed to be of help but gave me more frustration than help. IE I have always disliked. Opera is so much nicer. No pop ups, safe, fast, all the toys you could want at your fingertips with no system slow ups. I had not much of a community minded person anymore, being disabled I have been pretty much housebound. The computer is my big love now. But the community is changing me for the better. Thank you Opera for making my days a delight rather than frustrating me at every turn! AND bringing friends from all over the world.
