seven eleven

couldn't resist a post on the seventh day of the eleventh month of the seventh year of the new millenium.
food for the soul is notes i took while watching "out of africa", the movie from the book by isaac dinessen (karen blixen).
"the earth was made round so we would not see too far down the road."
and,
"when the gods want to punish you, they answer your prayers."
also, what i think is a most appropriate epitaph.
"he brought us joy and we loved him well."
... rose lipped maidens and lightfoot lads....
now have some breakfast. it's a breakfast designed for a day when you know you are going to need a lot of energy. not for the faint of heart.

cottage cheese, chicken livers, orange juice, coffee, a banana, two eggs and real corn muffins with real butter.

and for luck my granddaughter. by me... of course.

I love the portrait of Averyl, From Picture?
Looks like a very strange breakfast, I can understand the fried bananas and eggs, but the chicken liver? Is that how they do it in La? lol.
Just checking in.
Love,
Jon

yes, it's a pastel from a photo of Averyl. i've never seen her in person.
i did it as a present for jennifer.
and the chicken liver is my own invention... it's powerful.
hi arcanis... thank you for commenting. i think she is so pretty. much prettier than my pastel drawing. her mother, my daughter, has forbidden me to post any real pictures of her. and so far i have complied. she'll be six next may. i would love to see her.
donyan, i'm like you, i'll eat almost anything. but i do like it better if it's not staring at me. my favorite is calves brains. but i know i may be making some enemies in the "i won't eat anything that smiles" group.
if it tastes good, i'll eat it. from oysters to raw fish.

sorry i have not commented on your blog lately, i have been having a lot of issues with my XP computer. right now, to type this to you, i am using my VISTA computer. i am in the process of having to REFORMAT my XP computer, to which i just lost all my information that i had on it. this is the second time within a month that i have had to do this. i will catch up with your posts as soon as i get everything back in order again.

i am entirely in sympathy with you.
cable may cost an arm and a leg, but i swear by it. i will never ever do dial-up again. really, if you think about it, it's only a dollar a day.

well, i did this, and when i rebooted, i got a blue screen with a message about the something in the boot part of the computer. (don't remember the exact message now) but, when i rebooted the computer, and got that message, i even tried to put the computer on to windows through the SAFE MODE and it wouldn't even let me into the computer that way.
i wound up LOSING EVERYTHING that i was working on, because of this. not only did i lose everything on my computer, but i also had to reformat my computer. in doing so, i also lost unrecoverable pictures that i did not have on here yet. this means that all the pictures that i have taken since September 25th, no long exist.
along with the pictures & other stuff that i lost, i also lost e-mail that is unrecoverable as well.
so yes, i have been having a time with my computer again lately, and just think, i just went through this bs with my computer a little over a month ago, when i reformatted it
