my good friend mike vann went to washington a couple of months ago and made this little documentary when he returned. it is a good statement of what most people feel about the war in iraq.
i don't think he will mind my spreading the short around.

by the way, if the republicans win again, i'm leaving the country.

also, two pluses... they speak english and it seems to be a very peaceful place. it's the same latitude as jamaica, where i grew up... well, happy years aged six to nine. plus all that sun will cure my debilitating psoriasis. makes a lot of sense. i'll be like gauguin. eat fish and bananas. also, my money will go twice as far.
i just hope they have cable internet.

i've looked at the coastline with the google world... flew down low.
the plan will be to walk south from either belize city or placencia until there are no more houses but still services. then, i'm going to find the worst house on the beach and rent it at first. then when my socail security kicks in at the highest rate (when my ex-wife reaches 65, four more years from now), i will buy the house, establish an elderly belizian woman as caretaker and travel the world. especially, florence, paris, london, iceland and greece.
that's my plan... of course "man proposes and god disposes."
at any rate, i can live well there, as soon as i am 65. nine months.

i know from the past that when i am not worried about food and bills and gas money, my impulse to work (painting, i mean), is more pure.
now i can't help thinking of 'potboilers', paintings which people will like enough to buy. that hasn't worked too well lately, but they are the only paintings which sell.
i'm afraid the world is just tired of artwork. but i'm not.

"Hi Scott,
Visually intense and visceral poety. The language and feeling
reminds me of Whitman, or D.H. Lawrence. Organic, sensual and real.
I can really dig my teeth into it.
Thanks so much for putting my film up on your website. I enjoyed
reading the comments of friends of yours and your replies too."

what exactly didn't you understand?
minijuegos,
we think it's stupid. but someone must have thought it was the best thing to do at the time. the only thing we can do is take away the president's right to wage war without the consent of the majority of the governed.

he's a good enough friend that i didn't think i had to ask.
later, he thanked me even for drawing attention to his movie (short).
'short' is what we sometimes call short documentaries...

A war that should have never been. An Administration that has brought new meaning to 'broken spirit'.
You have an awesome blog!
Peace

This is a good video! Good and sweet for my heart: I'm glad to see that American people are not like their President, not all.
You know as I live in France far from your country, I think that what your President does is what American people wants. So I was afraid of America and in fact I still afraid now of Big Brother! And now in our country we have a President who love yours one, that makes me sad again and afraid for our futur in France!
After the second world war, America was a symbol of freedom in my country for a long time. I was in love with your country and dreamed to live in America. When you get your actual President I loosed that dream completly and even started to hate your country... So many bad things are from America! You know that!

And so much money spending in the Irak war now! We do the same in my country: there is so much money for weepons, bombs, video control, army, police, etc, etc...

Poor people who believe in the TV news, that's why they can't vote intelligently! Yes did you saw those youtube videos on a TV news? No never! I discover so many things about secret governments through Internet since I haven't a TV, that I started to open my eyes on how we are manipulated. When you are workless for example, all is done to let you think that you are a lazy one. And all believe in that! They didn't imagine the trade war between big company and countries... that makes the third world and now the quarter world. I stop here my comment for thinking about other things the Nature offers freely for all of us
By the way, you are welcome in my home Scott

the trouble is that we could do the thoreau thing and find our walden pond, which i've tried, but then you miss all the action. but we are free... especially if we can afford to have both a full experience of months in the provinces and some months in a great city like paris, rome or new york. at any rate, in spite of my perrenial poverty, my friends all consider me to be a true bon vivant. which i can't help. it's my nature.
when i get to france, i'll look you up.
By I_ArtMan, # 26. January 2008, 21:31:17
I didn't undestand those words: "thoreau", "walden" ?
Can you speak French or do you use an online translator?
The correct sentence is:
Je suis enchanté de faire votre connaissance !
Je vous en remercie aussi

Also did you see the videos I mentionned here in my first post? What do you think about them?
