the spring

how can we not love
the mountain spring
of purest water
given by the earth sublime,
unparalled intensity
miraculous providence
unequalled perfections
intrinsically divine.
it, the spring itself,
prooves the generosity of supreme design.

Life itself
What good has given
Or, as you say, the generosity of supreme design !
THAT supreme design for me is :
When i look up at the night sky, i think
Why is it, that we humans, are the only ones, that lives on a tiny tiny crusht, only max 30 miles wide, where ALL life is ???
And that on a spinning bold doing 29.000 miles an hour ???
IN an universe beieng 50 x 50 Square X-times ever expanding X miles, where whe only are a "pinpick" !
That can only leave you ind (dont know the word) deep respect off "the beeing"

A pleasant poem.

the whole significance is in the heartfelt gratitude for the spring itself.

Spring back, Love!
Spring back, warmth, from winters bare.
Spring back, hope, for summer's near.
Nice one up there, Scott. Liked the poem, loved the painting.

Regarding the painting, I feel like it's...'find the picture time' and I could spend a night on here. Totally awesome, Scott!!

your verses or your part
in bringing gifts
displayed in art?
how could we ignore
your pen and brush,
even the loudest storm
will cease, its thunder hush
against the calm release
of 'Scot-bro's form.
write on, good `Scott-bro',
write on and sing
quiet words that gush
from thoughts
whose fountain is
a mountain spring

Here's the entire poem,bro'... it's wisdom shines out from every line:
'if' by rudyard kipling
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master,
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)

i haven't read enough of his poetry. sure missed this one. i would have memorized it if i had ever come accross it. hmmm, 'if' "all dreams begin with 'if'." a. r. orage
there are a plethora of ifs in this poem which i would like to get 'under my belt' especially, "And never breath a word about your loss;" that would be more manly, i think. i will from this moment make it an exercise.... an alarm clock, when i catch myself seeking sympathy or choose to wear people out decrying my fate.
you are cool loku, it is i who am honored by your brotherhood.
