a serious meatloaf

, ,

if you want to give your body a nice long rest make a meatloaf. youdo everything the first day and eat for four days... or more. serve with mashed potatoes and green beans.

i'm not going to explain everything. the pictures tell the story. oh and the dessert is a banana pudding with fresh bananas and fresh mango slices... tres fantastique.

bread, bread crumbs, lean ground beef, rice and whatever.

carmelize onions and shallots in butter and corn oil.

all in a pile.

massage the pile. wedge it like clay or dough until its mixed real well.

cherry tomatoes halved and green pepper chunks.

strips of turkey bacon. place tomatoes and peppers.

add spaghetti sauce and shaved parmesan cheese.

i didn't mention salt, pepper and herbs. especailly oregano

dessert: just make a regular banana pudding and add one banana and slices of two small mangoes.

one last thing.... don't cook and blog at the same time. below is what i am eating right now. i kind of burned the potatoes.

oucha brainstorm dinner

runesb, my friend...i wish i could hand you a slice... it was just as good as i expected. no, even better.

angelika, you devil... o.k. but someone will have to watch me cook because i always fly by the seat of my pants and have no way of listing exact measurements. it's a sprinkle of salt, a dash of pepper, a dollop of sour cream, a chunk of butter and a handful of rice.

There is nothing better to eat on Earth than a meatloaf sandwich. I love your recipe.

angelika, nice double entendre. i did run a restaurant for 22 days in a row; singlehandedly except for a few barefoot teenagers to serve the people.

http://www.hungryeyegraphics.com/HungryEye/heg.html

scroll down to the "fish in'", and read my menu... finally, i got my way.... no $2.98 5.99 etc. which i have always hated.

i was like a kitten at a milk factory.

kayfour, that's exactly what i was thinking. that it would make a nice sandwich to picnic on my wanderings around here.

Scott I had no idea!
I always wonder how on earth you are presenting every thing so delicious!

I love the idea of bare foot teens serving ! I have two of my own,it's time they find a job !

a great job for the young ones... they get over their shyness quickly and really enjoy it.

but it's my mother who is to blame for my naturalistic cooking. also, i was a 'house-husband' for many years when my kids were growing up.

mom is always the best cooking teacher!
I am a house-mom by choice too.
The rewards, enormous.

it's a well kept secret. most people follow various ambitious paths.
i call those compulsions 'towers of babel', but to each his own understanding eh?

By I_ArtMan, # 12. April 2008, 19:17:27

avatar
oh I was one of "towers of babel" climbers for a long time!
My goal was to organize my business, get a few degrees, pay off my mortgages and wear always the best clothes and jewelery.
Then when my son started kindergarten I made the wisest move of all.
Sold the company,
donated most of my clothes to "dress for success",
put all my valuables to a safe deposit box,and cut my nails short.
I never worried if they brake while playing in the park with my kids and I never stopped coming down the slide holding them in my arms.I was wearing a blue jean and not silk
The Towers became mud towers and my make up became sweat of chasing the kids in the garden
My degrees are in my country houses' basement.I just relocate them if I have floating in my basement !

you made the right decision for you and your children. more mothers should have the sense to do that.
i know my life was enriched by my closeness to my children.
