flying to the beach

,

this morning i was determined to get to the beach earlier... mailibu... the rocks... my book, sketching etc. then suddenly, i was painting again.

now it's noon. there's still time. i'm off!

*his rocker.

my brother bobby saw my latest paintings online. he complimented me on them and then psychoanalysed me for free.... he said, "but, you're insane." crazy smart maybe.

hey, it's saturday cool even crazy artists deserve a day off. happy

povertya helluva day

HOURRRRAYYY Scott. That´s great party
She looks like a happy free spirit...the girl in your painting. Are you painting a mere feeling?! happy

Angelikiellinidata Saturday, October 18, 2008 7:52:56 PM

it seems to me the energy is all there,
even if a gust of wind blows her hair and her sense in the air....

heart lovely !

PS Bobby
we are all insane here! lol

Allanricewood Saturday, October 18, 2008 8:20:00 PM

pam,
i am glad you like it... i love that ocean green too. you can see i was dying to get to the pacific. thanks for commenting. smile

nic,
yes, a mere feeling of feminine youth beauty and freedom. smile

meli,
yes hair and senses sails in the wind. lol just felt exubrant today... and it was sustained through the day. i had a great time in malibu. i even splurged and bought a portable radio/cd/mp3 player. turkey sandwich and gaspacho soup at a lovely place called "marmalade".

then i fell asleep on the beach. when i woke up the sun was low and the ocean was green. i took a pile of pictures then. heart

allan,
thank you for the praise. happy

Angelikiellinidata Sunday, October 19, 2008 1:56:20 AM

"portable radio/cd/mp3 player" by knowing how much you enjoy music,
I am soooooooooooooooooooo happy you did!
hey,
the name "marmelade" alone makes me smile! I am looking forward to make some orange marmelade too! (recipe upon request).

"just felt exubrant today"
did you see ??
taking a brake it is fantastic after all!!

now about that "gaspacho soup" ....lol you know what I will cook tomorrow! lol
don;t you ??

heart

scott cummingI_ArtMan Sunday, October 19, 2008 2:12:22 AM

yep, it's so great to just jump in the car and go off... to spend a little money fearlessly cool

ummm, let me guess.... hmmm
don't tell me..

could it be gaspacho!
i wish i'd brought my camera into 'marmalade'
all kinds of baskets hanging from the ceiling and a really tempting display of wines. being malibu, 'marmalade' was also staffed with shapely young blonds p i did a little sketch looking out the door of a starlet type waiting on the bench bathed in sunlight and shadow.

Angelikiellinidata Sunday, October 19, 2008 2:18:04 AM

"could it be gaspacho?? "

if it was the "who wants to be a millionaire" I would have asked is this your final guess???
lol
" I did a little sketch looking out the door of a starlet type waiting on the bench bathed in sunlight and shadow"

usually these end up to be the best pictures of all!!!

the wine I mentioned the other day,
turned out to be a very sweet one,
not too much to my likening but the price was right ! lol I am half way done with it already!

did you read my latest post?? the comments overshadow the post bigsmile
(just follow the links) lol

I liked the whole picture. However, the mermaid makes me think that she is more free than me. I am chained from everywhere. I've got to lose my chain.

Well, you know, I am going to tell on you a secret about me. I also do sketching and drawing. But I always end up drawing lines or circles. sad I can never draw any figure. sad

But you are perfect at it! yes

Have a nice and great weekend!

Gopal.

To me, she looks like she is enjoying laying on lovel grass on the shore of a body of water, just happy in the sun. It is amazing how so much movement in a painting can at the same time evoke a tranquil, happy feeling. I imagine a slight wind...

Angelikiellinidata Sunday, October 19, 2008 9:20:22 PM

"time to roast my swordfish" wow! now I know why the walking around was over! lol

I will have only a small piece, thank you!!!

any "halva" left???

Dan DeVilledmfalmeida Monday, October 20, 2008 1:51:16 AM

Thanks to God you're insane, man...
So you can paint that well!!! smile
Peace,
Dan

scott cummingI_ArtMan Tuesday, October 21, 2008 12:49:26 AM

actually, matthew, it turned out to be a very sane day, relatively.

lea, i am glad you liked the little picture of the flying sea nymph.

isabel, thanks for the comment. i always appreciate praise.

mom, that's a very astute observation about the calm... yes a gentle zephyr is implied.

meli,
sorry no halva, i ate all the halva. but there's usually enough swordfish to go around (with steamed bok choy and whatever vegetable are available. some brown rice or japanese noodles finishes off the picture.)

dan, right. and just think what i might do were i more sane. i love nudes and that's insane because no one ever buys nudes; but i paint what i love. that's slightly insane.

Matthewnoah counte Tuesday, October 21, 2008 1:40:35 AM

Sanity is overrated, my friend. On the other hand, it's often nice to take a vacation from life's craziness.

scott cummingI_ArtMan Tuesday, October 21, 2008 2:01:39 AM

right on matthew cool a dose of aberration keeps it interesting. sherlock

I read the other day that Damien Hurst is worth some 300 million squillion dollars.

Mrs J is now under strict instructions that after my passing, I am to be pickled, set in glass, and sold for a bloody fortune, with the money to be evenly shared amongst all the artists who should have had a share in Damien Hursts 300 squilion dollars!! smile

Matthewnoah counte Wednesday, October 22, 2008 6:03:03 PM

How many brazilians in a squilion?

a measly $100,000.

I could probably scrape by for a week or two, too.

If course, it wouldn't buy clothes for a certain vice presidential hopeful.

AMROXSPixolo Thursday, October 23, 2008 4:09:09 AM

Hi man
u okay!
Good morning to all

scott cummingI_ArtMan Thursday, October 23, 2008 6:12:57 AM

meli,
you know if obama is a winner... president jokes are going out of style.

matthew,
yeah, i heard about that. i don't blame her for that. she probably sees the handwriting on the wall. shop until you drop... yep.

pixolo,
good morning smile thanks for commenting.

gotta watch out though... the rule is, "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men." lord acton (1887)

Those who seek absolute power, even though they seek it to do what they regard as good, are simply demanding the right to enforce their own version of heaven on earth. And let me remind you, they are the very ones who always create the most hellish tyrannies. Absolute power does corrupt, and those who seek it must be suspect and must be opposed.

sure, sure, they are all well meaning people; just that they are miles away from being objective (impartial), and when they're in, they just react.
that's why i think we should have a melon for president. smile

scott cummingI_ArtMan Thursday, October 23, 2008 6:11:14 PM

boy did that jump out at me... Surprise!

yes, a cucumber and a melon... they could share the responsibility. cool no hanky panky though, we don't want them creating a dynasty of melumbers.
