our moon

, ,

just want to go on record and say, who gave nasa the right to bomb our moon. nobody asked me...

it's not your moon to do whatever you fancy.

i can hardly believe that this is happening without any objection.

haven't we done enough damage to the earth?

who can predict the consequences of bombing the moon? what if the explosion throws the moon out of orbit? what if the explosion splits the moon? who the hell knows so much that they can take a chance like this. anyway, we will know tomorrow if we have destroyed a satellite the earth needs just as it is.

exuberate spiriti have an idea... let's save this good green earth: blog action day 2009

Bombing? NASA is just searching water on the moon. The moon is hit by many meteors bigger than the NASA's space crafts daily. No they aren't bombing the moon.

I just watched "the shot" on NASA TV, I have mixed feelings about this meli ...
If water is found ,
that can be translated to fuel,
to breathing air ,
a reason to continue the programs of the "moon mission". Money for those programs
can be used for other researches and more wisely if there is no water...

on the other hand,
I feel Moonians deserve better.
Yes, we are masters of destruction :frown:

I agree Scott, they should not be doing this.

I once had a creepy dream where the moon split in half. It was very disturbing to hear this.

PainterWoman 9. October 2009, 16:33

I too think this is a dumb idea but it is now 9:30 am here so it has already happened. If nothing occurs from this, let's hope they do not continue doing it.

L2D2 9. October 2009, 20:00

Ambivalent feelings, but think there should be a better way of doing this. Even if there is water, it may not be H2O as we know it. But woe to them if they disturb the moons effect on our tides and other earthly processes.

Rapunzel 9. October 2009, 20:19

90% of my body is water and nobody asked me!
This is madness. It's not like we are planning to picnic on the moon anytime soon.

SummerAngel 9. October 2009, 21:45

Wow! What will they think of next? That is, if we have a future after this. Great point Linda...Why take the chance of distrubing the effect of the moon on our tides and other earthly processes?

thanks everyone for all the comments. i guess no damage was done. but i hope they don't make a habit of it.

BabyJay99 10. October 2009, 10:33

Amen!

wickedlizard 17. October 2009, 12:43

I agree! I find it utter nonsense that they are doing this!!! :bomb: I wonder whether there has been any public outcry over this and it's been hushed up by the media??? :furious:

How dare they!!! Enough exploitation of earth itself, and now they are allowed to go off and exploit and possibly destroy other planets??? What for? Just to find some water, how utterly ridiculous! And they use public money for this sh*t!!! I think any public money for projects used ,should also be under publi scrutiny whether to veto or not a stupid project. This is a stupid project and for what end? To just to satisfy a few idiot scientists their stupid curiousity? I see no purpose in such endeavours and such scientists should use their minds here on earth and help solve some of it's problems here. Not create more or make humanity believe that there is a lot to gain from what they are doing to other planets. It is just pure stupidity!!! This utterly pisses me off!!! The moon does not belong to NASA, it belongs to space and as far as I'm concerned no human should mess with it, no matter where they are from!!!

I_ArtMan 18. October 2009, 13:42

exactly, issy, that's my point. they act as if they know consequences, but they don't.

yes, of course. can you help us?

Rapunzel 20. October 2009, 17:15

Ironically we are about to get a new T.V mini series.
The plot... an asteroid crashes into the moon sending it hurtling toward earth. "Impact" 'Prep the sheep'. Heh the T.V aliens all look human these days.
I dunno that I feel comfortable that no damage was done. There was news worthy solar flaring a week later. (and yep I do know it's the season for it) When Hayleys comet passed we also experienced large solar flares. I remember that as being when our weather started to significantly change. What bothers me most is I'm female. That big white ball up there doesn't just pull the tides. That's our fertility they're playing with.

I_ArtMan 20. October 2009, 18:34

i hadn't thought of that rapunzel, but that's what i mean we should respect the balance of nature and be careful... cause and effect. thankyou for commenting... very interesting.

wickedlizard 21. October 2009, 09:45

so true, Rapunzel.

Rapunzel 21. October 2009, 17:39

Thanks for raising the topic Scott. People need to speak up. If they call this 'mission' a success. It's only a matter of time till they do it again.
