encounters of the fourth kind

, , ,

i was surprised at the tameness of the deer and grabbed my camera while a neighboring camper shouted out "you are the chosen one." i'm not really sure what he meant by that except that the deer felt it was safe to cut through my campsite due to my 'saintly vibrations" yeah sure...
i don't think this video is opening automatically. so here is the exact link to the big sur campsite video.

Whether attributed to "saintly vibrations" or not, what a wonderful opportunity presented itself and it was great that you had your camera at the time.

Outstanding video!

cool lee, thanks for the feedback. of course, i was kidding about the saintly vibrations... it's just that guy said something that kind of rattled around in my brain as a question. i also had a giantlike crow that used to drop by and tell me to smoke. really. he would say "smoke!smoke!" so i did. lol i'm sure he was the one that put the triangular holes in my hotdogs.

Mike writes:

Scott,

I hope all is well. I really enjoyed your philosophical speech upon a
hill in Big Sur. It's quite an awe-inspiring vista. Hopefully I'll
be able to make the trip one day myself.

Great poetry too, by the way. They were both profound, and it's a
relief that someone is looking at the world through keenly observant
eyes. The Pepper Tree piece was an astute ode to the all-to-frequent
price of 'progress'.

Take care of yourself and please keep us informed of your 'encounters
of the fourth kind.'

Mike

P.S. (I still can't get through on your @comcast.com account, is there another way?)

Big Sur campsites!

nice part of the world to be camping in. Have driven through there several times; it's a gorgeous part of the Califonrian coast.

I sure do believe in the good vibes theory.

Sometines you also attract snakes (it happens to me once), but this snake was very polite to me.

So was I with him.

thanks pfelelep for commenting. i'll keep posting. thanks for the encouragement.
when i'm in the wilderness i am always watching for snakes. that can spoil your fun if you step on a basking rattler or disturb a nest of copperheads.
