People think Steve wants massive amounts of Sex

If you're saying it's all about sex, then you're referring to what is called partnered nonmonogamy or swinging.
If there's a non-sexual component, then we're dealing with polyamory or polyfidelity.
Hopefully the podcast will help you understand the difference. It's already posted, so please give it a listen.
Polyamory isn't a higher level of being than monogamy. It is a higher level of awareness though.
Polyamory is a perspective -- a lens -- through which you can view your relationships right now. It is not a decision to be made. It's more of a realization.
As explained in the podcast, all of us are already polyamorous to one degree or another. We all meet needs and fulfill desires outside of our primary relationship, each of us in different ways. We all connect to other people, whether it be financially, socially, emotionally, sexually, ... whatever.
Polyamory is the awareness that this is happening. Once we realize we're doing this, we can direct this process more consciously.
Monogamy is a less accurate model for how real human relationships actually work. Consequently, it tends to be more disempowering.
Some problems, when viewed through the lens of monogamy, as impossible to solve from within the relationship without breaking up or cheating or doing something deceptive. The same problems, when viewed from a polyamorous frame, can suddenly be resolved with no deception or dishonesty, and they can actually strengthen the primary relationship.
