food, spice, italian, India
After a not very successfull try of crescentine, we decided to spice up the lunch.
But finding special food items in Oslo is not that easy, so I've been sent to India to retrieve the best of best.
It is the only way after all to do an international italian lunch for 300 people!

Wish me luck in my 10 days research!

While we prepare the "event", I can see lots off line requests...Those are becoming higher and higher expectations! :O Someone who is not italian would be worried or even scared. But we are italians and we do it better, so no problem with us

We are finding some difficulties finding the finest ingredients however we are doing our very best

Have a great week end from the italian lunch cometee.
And remember, if you meet one of us, smile and hug

food, passion, italian, work around
Works are still going on to create the perfect mix. As when you are cooking, when you create an event, you need not just the basic ingretients but also spices, a bit of immagination and lots of passion! And we are really putting some efforts into that during our very italian style meetings!

After 2 not very efficient dinners (in terms of making decisions, instead in terms of belly satisfaction they were just great!), today we had another meeting. This time without touching food so we could be a bit more focused. And... guess what... we are getting closer!

But still lots of dicussions with and without body language in the most classic italian fashion.
We are taking things so seriously because to us, the Opera lunch is not just a matter of setting a dish on a table, but it is also about passing a bit of our colture through the food to the "foreigners".
We even consulted a 150 years old recepee book to find the most exquisite recepee.
Unfortunatly there will be not all the tools we need available, so we have some restrictions in cooking.... anyway, after all, we are italians and we'll find a way to work around it! (as me taking with me 45 kg. from China instead of 20 as luggage without paying anything extra

).
But stay tuned... and maybe you'll discover a little more!

food, dish, foreigner, italian
...
Italian "cusine" can be very different accordingly to seasons, regions, even cities.
It is quite different from what a normal foreigner would expect.
In Italy you do not find just "Tiramisu" or "Lasagna" or "Spaghetti bolognese" (By the way, this just DO NOT EXIST! if you find on a menu, just run away from the restaurant: it is a tourist trap!).
But maybe italians also stereotype the "normal foreigner" and they are aware of much more interesting dishes.
It would be interesting to see what a typical italian dish, or a foreigner's preferred italian dish are...
