"Blow guns" est très funky, "Six, quatre, nous" est vraiment la quintessence de ce son, un peu à la Starsky & Hutch (excusez les références...), si particulier qu'on l'on pouvait faire à l'époque et qu'on n'entend plus malheureusement... "Attractive-Dress" est plein de punch et tranche un peu avec les autres pistes par son style et son accessibilité, alors qu'elle commence par une intro d'octave de si bémol(si mon oreille dit juste) qui font penser à un générique de JT des années 70... "Floc Marie" a une chouette petite guitare nerveuse à souhait! Tiens, du coup, j'ai trouvé l'autre jour à la brocante deux 33T des Tréteaux sur lesquels figuraient des titres de vous : "El Favorito" et "The Beast" (sur 12 Super Succès "Le Schmilblick") et "Walking Blue" (12 Super Succès n°36 Mille Colombes). J'ai pu apprécier l'audace des autres morceaux (copie parfaite des voix de Patrick Juvet et d'Eddy Mitchell), d'une chanteuse anglophone qui chante du Yogourt sur "La vie en rose" ou d'une bande qui va en accéléré pour faire la voix de Dave... Ou encore les mêmes morceaux crédités par "John First & Orch" sur un disque et "Daniel Janin & Orch" sur un autre! Cela dit, les imitateurs devaient bien s'amuser à calquer les vedettes de l'époque! Je me demande quel public visaient ces "Super Succès" (tout comme les M. Cavallero), qui maintenant je pense vont bien se vendre sur les brocantes... i'm sure that you people allready know about the GREAT Harlem Pop Trotters on "les treteaux" a very hard to find rare groove lp ... this one is less known, this is a Library record from the beautifull label Musique Pour L'Image.

Don't expect the same style than the one you know, this is more folk/rock than funky ! Lot's of flutes and guitars, a bit like the productions of the great parisian label ECAP if you know what i mean ... plus some punchy drums !

My favorite track is definitly "La Baraka du Baraqué " ! Stupid tittle
Hope you'll enjoy this hard to find and great Library !

I do like the sound of this, however it is nothing new, i have heard sounds like this before! What i suggest is less of the house sound, but i do hear jazz somewhere in your music. To stand out i would incorporate jazz into your disco, see how that develops and less house style. You want to be unique, stand out, not be like every other sound. Keep me posted.

Here is an other nugget from the past french (g)oldies. An other rare library opus to find today, produced by Jean-Claude Pierric and arranged by Christian Piget. A weird mix of country-fuzzy sounds & instinctive pop drums. A real taste of oddities and 70’s nostalgia with title like « moogy’s », wich includes a melancholic moog synthesizer line, for sure, used in a forgotten movie. Just listen to « moriccone for you », to understand that it’s not far away from François de Roubaix sounds investigation’s work ! Cool for fun, and, fun for cool…
