The Psychic Fair -

Today I went to the Pathways Lifestyle Fair at the Bayside Plaze Novotel Hotel @ Brighton Beach. It was great with lots of entertainment! My best friend, Maryanne, is a Jazzercise instructor and she always does an on stage demo.

Twice a year this 'Psychic Fair' is on. I love to wonder around the many stalls.
I like to listen to many of the free lectures, and once ever had a Spirit Guide drawing done.

There are stalls with New Age c.d.'s and box sets of Angel cards, amongst other subjects. There are stalls with crystals, stalls with Aromatherapy, Reiki practioners & also Feng Shui. Tarot card readings, Aura photographers, stalls selling candles, my favorite Himalayan Salt Lamps, and many other things.

One lady has a stall to promote her Buteyko Breathing Technique..

Today I listened to a lady from Ohio who is a Ghost Whisperer. She had an amazing Aura!
I can see people's aura's ~ every living thing has an aura ~ it's your energy field. This lady had a green aura, like a glow in the dark luminous green. I've never seen a green aura before!
Plenty of white & occasionally yellow auras.

Here's the advertisement for it ~

Salt Crystal Lamps

Salt crystal lamps - salt lamps

Negative ions are essential for our health and well being. The invigorating freshness of the air after a thunderstorm, on a mountain top, or by the seaside, is due to the high concentration of negative ions in the air.

Conversly in an air conditioned office, you may experience reduced well being, which is often due to high positive ions in the atmosphere.

Salt crystal lamps are known to improve the quality of the air by producing negative ions, thus helping to balance our environment.

Salt crystal lamps are made from salt crystal rock formed by nature over hundreds of millions of years ago, and mined 800 metres underground in salt rock mines in Asia and Europe.

Choose from our range of electric natural salt lamps and the candle lit variety.
Add elegance to your surroundings whilst improving the atmosphere. These lamps are the ideal gift for friends or relatives who are looking for that special something which will not only add beauty to their surroundings but create a fresh and relaxing atmosphere.

Himalayan Salt Lamps ~

Caring for Your Salt Crystal Lamp

Because of salt's hygroscopic properties, salt crystal lamps should not be sprinkled with water, kept in excessively moist conditions or be placed outdoors. The salt lamps will tolerate moisture, however, in particularly moist or humid environments, the crystal lamp surface may be slightly damp to the touch. Upon illumination, the crystal salt lamp will dry in a few hours from the small amount of heat generated.

Wiping with a damp cloth will remove any crystallization should it appear on the surface of your salt lamp. It is recommended that you light your crystal salt lamp every day for the best results. Leave your lamp on for as long as possible. This will keep the negative ionizing process going and also prevent excess moisture build up on the lamp.

To store your salt crystal lamp for longer periods of non-use, just put a plastic bag on the lamp to seal out moisture.
To clean your salt lamp, wipe with a damp (not soaking wet) towel or sponge to remove dust. After wiping clean, dry the lamp with a paper towel and turn on the crystal lamp to dry.

Warning:

Always unplug your salt lamp before changing the bulb to prevent electric shock. Keep out of reach of children.

Candles, Oil burners, etc.

Today I decided to use some Aromatherapy ~ I got out my oil burner, put some water in the top of it, added a few drops of lemon, orange & lime, put a tealight candle in the base and lit it!
Soon the air was filled with the scent of lemons, oranges & limes!

Later I added a couple of drops of Eucalyptus ~ very refreshing!

I later decided to put on my gothic skull with dragons on top, this stands in a mote and when water is added the eyes and mouth glow purple and a fog comes out! It's very relaxing to watch, a visual feast! I considered having the volcano lamp or a lava lamp on too, but decided against it. Perhaps tomorrow.....

I shall add some photos of them when I get around to uploading them!

The visuals of candles or fog feathres and the smell of essential oils (one's that you like and that suit you) are a wonderful form of relaxation. You can always add some relaxation music or put on a water feature with the sound of trickling water, then you would have 3 of your senses enjoying a wonderful day ~ the sense of sight, the sense of smell, and the sense of hearing.

All you need to add it a hug from a loved one or pat your pet (sense of touch) then a snack or a glass of wine (sense of taste) and there you have it!

Now if you are lucky and have a sixth sense ~ oh happy day!

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the controlled use of essential oils extracted from plants, to promote and maintain a balance of both the body and mind. Originally popular amongst the ancient Egyptians and Greeks, many of the original oils have found use as medicinal products in use up to current time. Research continues, much of it in France, into the applications and biochemical effects of these plant extracts.

Originally popular amongst the ancient Egyptians and Greeks, many of the original oils have found use as medicinal products in use up to current time. Research continues, much of it in France, into the applications and biochemical effects of these plant extracts.

Essential Oils have been used to help relieve a wide range of common problems:

emotional problems e.g. insomnia, mental fatigue, stress related anxiety
skin conditions e.g eczema, dermatitis, acne
respiratory problems e.g. asthma, cold and flu symptoms
muscular problems e.g. cramp, rheumatism and arthritis
digestive complaints e.g. heartburn, constipation, nausea
circulatory problems e.g. cellulite, fluid retention
gynaecological problems e.g. PMT, cystitis, menstrual pain

A good therapist will always take a very detailed medical history and build up a thorough picture of each client's lifestyle in order to maximise the benefits of aromatherapy treatment. Where appropriate, the client's GP may be contacted. Advice on diet may also be given.

Certain essential oils may be hazardous in some conditions and it is always advisable to contact a fully qualified aromatherapist if you have any queries at all with regard to dosage or oil type.

Currently, where stress related problems are commonplace, aromatherapy is invaluable in its ability to help promote relaxation. It is all too often that high stress level and a person's emotional state result in adverse physical symptoms. It would certainly be more beneficial to treat complementary therapies as a preventative treatment rather than a palliative one.

Points to observe:

always buy oils from a reputable supplier who is able to state that oils are 100% pure
never use an essential oil directly on the skin
never take essential oils internally, unless under the strict guidance of a qualified therapist
keep essential oils away from the eyes
keep essential oils out of the reach of children
