I saw this film quite a long time ago, but can't forget. It's absolutely touching.

We, in Poland, don't pay much attention to what did WW2nd mean in Japan or the USA, we generally had much different problem

And historically funny is the fact that although Japan was in the coalition with Germany and the USA, we, the Poles, still remember about Hiroshima and Nagasaki not paying attention to any American war problems

I think that many Japanese people are thinking about the war and the atomic bomb as another problem.

I have been to the Nagasaki atom bomb museum in the days of a student once.
I don't still forget one piece of photograph exhibited there.
It was a photograph of the face of one woman who received the heat rays of the atom bomb.
When I watched it, I was not able to talk.

My teacher said to see it.
"She had better die:rip: than she lived."

Yeah, it's like Nazi concentration camps in Oświęcim (it was called Auschwitz-Birkenau) and in Treblinka. Hitler's followers killed many Poles and Jews there. Burnt them alive, tortured, starved to death.

We have museums in these places, commemorating this terrible time. Those people who died like animals. There are places filled with their hair. Their shoes. Pieces of clothing.
Because of its dramatic look, the underaged cannot enter Oświęcim camp.

Because the camps were placed in Poland much western media used the term 'Polish concentration camps' and now Poland protests, because it may suggest that Poles killed people there.
It hurts more then you can imagine.

Funny thing, history, isn't it?

A lot of Japanese on the other side of the earth understand it well.

Because information is not restricted in Japan since World War II.

It is said that Poles and Japanese understand each other surprisingly well.
All in all no other nation can comprehend and perform clearly Polish compositions by Chopin just like Japanese, right?

It cannot know be so.
We are not understood.
For instance, an electric product and the car of Japan have a lot of people who do not know where Japan is all over the world though are.

Well yeah... but it's more due to the fact that Japan is politically calm when it comes to global news.
It requires some effort to find Japanese political/ economical/ cultural info. And when it comes to the USA or the EU countries or even Russia or China - well you have a nice bunch of it!
And it's quite exotic country.

But more and more Poles are interested in Japan, Japan studies are very popular and lots of people try to learn Japanese. It's not due to Toyota, you know

Though I personally adore Toyotas...

To tell you the truth, me & my husband were trying to find a job in Japan (we're both English teachers) but they generally prefer native speakers... I don't really know why: a native speaker will never understand the difficulties a non-native may encounter during their learning

But well, happens, people are weird sometimes
