Your article is an interesting window onto the world of youth pop culture. It's well written, I dare say. I still believe the most disturbing trend is the growing inability of younger people to connect directly with the world they live in - unless it's by an electronic device.

I remember a science fiction short story I read for college years ago where a person was completely cared for by a super-computer dominated world. In the end, the computer began malfunctioning and the person had to learn how to get out and experience the real world in a tactile way. It wasn't a pretty or habitable world by that time.

Granted, this is being written from almost half a world away. That kind of accessibility is wonderful. The goal of MXit is to buy their stuff through their network using their brand of economics. Simple enough. It could be a tougher sell outside of SA, though. That's their job to figure that out. However...

...I was interested to know a bit about the people behind the company; so I went to the MXit website. The first thing that struck me was each person's hobbies in the real world: hiking, cycling, running, other sports, painting, cooking etc. Taking care of themselves and their world in real time. One of them is a Canadian (ooooo...subversive plot developing here.....smile )

You're a journalist. You love to write. Just keep writing. The inspiration will come; sometimes from unlikely sources.
Have a great day! heart

Thanks, much appreciated.
And so cool that you even did some other research LOL my bad I forgot to link it.
Yes, it might be a bit harder to market in Canada, but apparently there are plans to take it international? Think it might be hitting the shores of New Zealand soon.

Hey Joy

I like your article on "Bandwidth Revolution". Heard about it before but never actually read it and saw it.
