Dile no a la Yola

Dile No a La Yola is a non-profit organization with the goal of providing free knowledge to every Dominican person out there. The message is to continue informing them about the dangers of boarding a Yola and clarifying the misconceptions that many have regarding the land that so many perceive to be paved in gold.
For a very long time now, Dominicans have been motivated and blinded by material and financial gains and have made the very poor decision of boarding a fragile vessel, risking the loss of their lives at sea, just to reach US soil. Many of them just like the rest of the immigrants that make their way illegally to the US believe that here there is no struggle, that jobs are easy to acquire, that the system is easy to navigate through and that within the blink of an eye you will acquire riches as well.
Dile no a la Yola wants to somehow engrave into the consciousness of our people that risking our lives on a Yola does not by any means guarantee an easy life in the US. Sure many can say they will do what they need to do to make it, but the truth is that many end up far worse than they were in their own Country.
As sad as it may sound, if you were a doctor, lawyer, engineer, or scientist back home, when you come here you most likely end up scrubbing toilets, serving tables in a restaurant, and doing other menial jobs just to make enough to send back home.
