I miss my pool...pouting big time

, ,

No, this isn't my pool. This was my dream pool until I found out how much it cost..LOL! I really had no idea, because the only other home I've lived in since moving to Florida had a pool, hot tub, the works. And all was included in the price of the home/property.

This pool, on the left was $285.000.00. And I couldn't/wouldn't have had this one as my choice due to the concrete. It's too cold. I like wood. Everywhere. Wood.

So, I went hunting and found a contractor that delivered my pool according to my lil' homemade blueprint. It took long enough and by the time it was done it was too cold to swim. eeeek!

But I got exactly what I wanted, down to the shape of the deck and a privacy fence AND located at the back of my property where I have a little walk to get to it, and it's so quiet and pretty down there.
Since this picture, I've had the deck stained/watersealed in oil, twice. The wood is darker and warmer. And I've added palms everywhere. I'm also adding a waterfall this summer with the boulders around the hot tub.

On the other side the deck is 16ft by 120ft and that's where the cabana is. That is very tropical, but still needs finishing touches. When I get it done, I'll share the pics of my favorite get-a-way!!!

When I have my first pool party...you're all invited!!!

I've been tagged - Jobs I wouldn't do

, ,

I have been tagged by my buddy, Scott...ArtMan

The rules are as follows:

-Name 5 jobs / professions what you would never ever do / practice with explanation
-Refer back to the person / ppl who tagged you
–Name 5 victims - also make a link to their blog!

I have a problem saying I would never do a thing. Because life deals us hands and we'll do what we need to, to get what we need! Being a non-conformist, I will try my best to follow these rules.
I couldn't honestly write these unless I specified first what I feel to be real, so I am writing this with a stipulation: I would (like to believe that I would) never

1) I would never work in a morgue. I've been around enough death as I have viewed my share of lifeless bodies. I choose not to be exposed to it anylonger.

2) I would never work in a Convenience Store. I see how rude people are to the cashiers and everyone wants everything...yesterday!

3) I would never work in a high rise building. I cannot be in an elevator very long or any place that I cannot leave when I want/need to.

4) I would never compromise myself in anyway, be it for money or title. I would never sell my body or my soul.

5) I would never work as a defense attorney. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night and live with the fact that I allowed someone capable of great evil to continue preying on others.
And since, as one, I took an oath to defend regardless, I also would not be of any assistance to the innocent. But, I'll never have to make that choice.

WARNING: Post could offend/upset...Graphic Medical Content!

Officially back to work and have a lot of catch-up to play, since being 'down' since last Friday afternoon.
I was on Opera a little last night but was knocked off so much, I just got disgusted and shut down.
That man with the headband again.."We're fixing it, go visit our home page while you're waiting."

MATTHEW.....I DID see your post BEFORE I went to the dentist. I had signed on for a little distraction and got more than I bargained for..hehe!!
It was all in fun, because I know you would never write something that could cause a person to go...
OVER THE EDGE!!!!!!! LOL

Seriously, I was tortured in a dentist chair some time back, It was an awful experience. A well known, respected, maxiofacial surgeon, with more degrees than his walls could hold, introduced me to torture.

I was given an IV drip, but with only Lactated Ringers, as was discovered later. I was having a molar extracted/pulled and had previously paid &1700.00 for the procedure, which was supposed to include the extraction, anesthesia and after care.

I felt nothing, as in, not being relaxed a little, nothing! He also did not give me novocaine to numb the area. And when I saw him starting to go for my mouth, I firmly said, STOP!

I was then restrained, hands first and later, feet.

I told him, do not pull/yank because I can feel everything. He replied...
"You'll Be Just Fine"!!!!
Then I felt a contraption being forced into my mouth and I was now unable to close it.

I tried to get up, but of course there was a steel wall with TOOLS jammed up against my neck, and when I tried to push it aside, someone, (and I didn't see who it was because they (?) threw a white sheet over my face) placed a mask on my face and put pressure on my forehead. I assumed it was 'gas' and when I tried to remove it, of course the restaints prevented me from doing so.

Now, I knew there were '3' people in this room, but never hearing a word spoken, except from Dr. Evil, and then, just a 'couple one-liners'!

This 'MONSTER' proceeded to yank out my back bottom molar, all the while listening to the, crunch, crunch, crunch, and trying to free my hands so I can choke the LIFE OUT OF HIM!!!!!
I even tried to 'kick' him, trying to pull my legs up, but of course I couldn't.
The pain was unbearable. Just terrifying.

After 15-20 minutes, which seemed/felt like hours, he left the room, slamming the door behind him.

I felt the restraints being loosened on my hands, and my legs were now free, also.

Another door, slammed. Whoever was left in there with me, was now gone.

I got up from the chair, grabbed my purse and proceeded down the hallway to find Dr. Evil so I could 'thank him, properly'!?!?!?!?

The office was empty except for a receptionist, who knew nothing of anyone's whereabouts.

I called out for my sister, who came with me, as I was supposed to be put under and I would have needed a driver. She ran to me, saw my mouth, my face and screamed out for the Dentist. And by this time, everything was a blur and I was not able to see my way down the hall to follow my sister because they had rubbed something over my eyes and they were burning and swollen.???

My sister called the police to explain, in short, that a crime had been committed and they met us to take my statement.

The officer called the paramedics and I was brought to the ER for treatment.

When Dr. Evil was questioned, he told the officer, officerS by this time, that I was given an anesthetic, was very comfortable and that all went well. The officer looked at him and asked."Doc, have you seen your patients face, because it looks like she was in a bar room brawl!!!

(I didn't even have gauze in my mouth afterwards and the blood was pouring everywhere, until the paramedics came.)

He refused to answer anymore questions without an attorney present. Mine (attorney) showed up in the ER and we went from there.

There was no mediation, no lawyers bickering back and forth...the judge who heard the charges from the District Attorney found sufficient evidence for this matter to go to trial. It was now considered...CRIMINAL!

Months passed and the trial began. By this time I was physically healed, but still emotionally traumatized.

The Judge and the jurors were not only appalled when viewing the photos of my face, neck, wrists and ankles, some became physically ill and others were openly sobbing.

Dr. Evil's attorney tried to plea bargain the case out, claiming he was under extreme pressure to lose his liscene (GO FIGURE????) and even the ole..'temporary insanity' plea.

It was a No Go. He was found guilty on numerous charges ranging from criminal negligence to obstructing justice...not to mention, blatantly lying under oath.

I didn't ask for money, although I was offered a settlement, with the stipulation that I would not be interviewed and that I could never discuss my experience. I refused of course, and asked only that my medical expenses be provided for.
My Request: That he never be allowed, be given the opportunity, to ever abuse another human being.

He no longer practices medicine and was given a prison sentence!

So, theres my horror story regarding a visit to a 'Madman's Lair' and I would post the pictures, but they are too graphic, even more terrifying than the pictures taken after my '96 car accident, when a drunk hit me at a high rate of speed and flipped my car...quite a few times.

Forwarding to present: Friday afternoon, my experience at the dentist was a pleasant one, but not before a very long consultation and permission to have my visit videotaped.
They were wonderful and I would highly recommend her to anyone who has been severely traumatized by any dentist.

I wasn't the first this happened to...

And, I won't be the last!

Love is patient, Love is kind,
It does not envy, it does not boast,
It is not proud, It is not rude,
It is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered,
It keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil,
but rejoices with the truth.

Love always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres.

Love bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never ends.

The Threat is real!
How Does This Threat To Internet Freedom Affect You?

Bloggers Costs will skyrocket to post and share video and audio clips silencing citizen journalists and putting more power in the hands of a few corporate-owned media outlets.

Ten Things That Finally Killed Net Neutrality

An Enlightening List
The fight to protect Internet Freedom is not a new concern, as the fight for Net Neutrality has been in the works for a long time....

...What IS new is the language put forth by Bush, once again, always, back in bed with the Telco giants and openly supporting the entry of these dangers into what we hold sacred, our right to, not only free speech, but to not have it dictated as to how often and even IF we will be able to continue to express it.

I knew it was coming...just a matter of time. He wants to go out with a 'bang' with the 'big boys' by his side/on his side, because how could middle class America win this one, we're so bruised and battered and spirit has been broken, because who's fighting for us? Where are our interests in all of this? And are our numbers strong enough, our voices loud enough, to be heard?

I have fought tirelessly on this issue for a long time, and now this huge disappointment of allowing them IN, so what choice does Congress have if he will Veto, when they speak up on our behalf to protect the rights we have,(that so many take for granted until these rights are gone), the rights we cannot lose....we've already lost so much.

We all know him by now: he'll take a temper tantrum if anyone dares to confront him once he's made his decision, and again, Veto anything that comes his way, and even warns first that he will do so.
This is just the beginning. Cable and Telco giants want to eliminate the Internet's open road in favor of a tollway that protects their status quo while stifling new ideas and innovation. If they get their way, they'll shut down the free flow of information and dictate how you use the Internet.

And although this hasn't exactly been 'front page news' for some time now, you better believe it's all we're going to be hearing, in the months ahead.

We MUST speak out by writing our Representatives, signing all of the petitions regarding NN and aggressively protesting, and there are many ways to do this.
Research your options. Decide for yourself whether you want to continue using the Internet or if you are 'willing and able' to turn it over...give it back!!!

Sir Tim Berners-Lee, (BIO) invented the World Wide Web enabling us to surf the net.
Net Neutrality & Tim Berners-Lee

Al Gore fought to allow the government to release the Internet to the public. These '2' pioneers are not appreciated for their ongoing efforts on OUR behalf. Of course there were many others involved, but Lee and Gore have always been the KEY players. And without them, I would not be sitting here writing this, and you would not be reading it.

The SavetheInternet.com Coalition is made up of groups from across the political spectrum that have banded together to save the First Amendment of the Internet: network neutrality. No corporation or political party is funding these efforts.

Congress is pushing a law that would abandon the Internet's First Amendment-- a principle called Network Neutrality that prevents companies like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast from deciding which web sites work best for you--based on what site pays them the most. If the public doesn't speak up now, our elected officials will cave to a multi-million dollar lobbying campaign.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________

The nation's largest telephone and cable companies including AT&T, Verizon, Comcast and Time Warner want to be Internet gatekeepers, deciding which Web sites go fast or slow and which won't load at all.

They want to tax content providers to guarantee speedy delivery of their data. They want to discriminate in favor of their own search engines, Internet phone services, and streaming video while slowing down or blocking their competitors.

These companies have a new vision for the Internet. Instead of an even playing field, they want to reserve express lanes for their own content and services or those from big corporations that can afford the steep tolls and leave the rest of us on a winding dirt road.

The big phone and cable companies are spending hundreds of millions of dollars lobbying Congress and the Federal Communications Commission to gut Net Neutrality, putting the future of the Internet at risk.
