A New Day! A New Way!

Braving the elements!

For serious chocolate lovers

, ,

Your morning 'hot chocolate' Naomi!:coffee: ENJOY!!
"1 cup heavy cream
4 ounces very best quality
bittersweet chocolate
1 tablespoon
superfine sugar
pinch salt
1 cup milk
Put the cream, chocolate, sugar and salt in a metal bowl over barely simmering water. When the cream is hot to the touch (but never boiling), gently whisk the chocolate until it is thoroughly mixed. Take teh bowl off the heat and whisk the mixture for 2 or 3 minutes. The mixture can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to one week, but don't add the milk until ready to serve. Then heat the milk (without boiling) and whisk in the chocolate mixture until it is hot and frothy. Serve immediately in demitasse cups. Serves 2 to 4."

I skipped bkfst this morning! I was thinking to combine bkfst&lunch , now after this I have second thoughts!
I might combine lunch with dinner!
chocolate sounds perfect... I do like the name too!

Naomi 25. March 2008, 15:52

A hat? Hmm.... Not much of a hat lady except during winter for warmth.

Taking it as easy as I can. lol

Now for a confession- I snarfed a few chocolate chips as dessert after breakfast & will eat a few more to power up my workout. p:

Naomi 25. March 2008, 15:55

OMG!!!!!!!!! I didn't even notice the pic of Angelina's!!!! We've been there & the hot chocolate mix (yup, we're talking mix like Swiss Miss) we bought there is amazing!!!!!!! It's located in a very swank part of Paris near the Louvre.

I rationed the bag of chocolate mix I bought there for almost 2 years. It was only about $8 six years ago; I can't imagine what it would cost now with the falling dollar.

Jill 25. March 2008, 15:55

We just have to change the last two letters to 'ki'!!

Hey, it's all good Naomi! Chocolate feeds the soul, you know?? LOLL

I'm a hat gal, and always buy one when I'm down...eeek...I have ALOT of hats!!! :yikes:

What's for dinner, Angeliki??

Naomi 25. March 2008, 15:56

Maybe Angeliki could buy out Angelina's, slightly change the name, & give us all free chocolate. For life. p:

Oh, I not only saw it, I shared it with alot of my friends, and also, your site!!!

I SEE Ms. Angeliki as a restaurant owner. It just sounds right!

Hey, I'll be in the City in July and we'll have to get together and make sure their 'hot chocolate' is up to the standards of Naomis so I can bring back her recipes!!!

Jill 25. March 2008, 16:12

I'm off to work! Enjoyed the chat, ladies!

We have 3 days of cold weather here, and just when everything was starting to bloom, too. For Florida it's cold, anyway. 29 this morning and the same tonight and tomorrow.

Fireplace weather...again!!!:eyes: :coffee: :psmurf:

wow this chocolate made my two friends chatty!!
I am overwhelmed by your suggestion!
if I ever bought a place like Angelina's I would have loosen a tool that opens many doors for me. I love to keep my weight down!
No chocolate and pastry place for this lady! :D
It is a good thinking but a bad investment.
Real Estate in Europe with my dollar today, will buy me only a pot to piss in!

I did see Claudes video at your web site and I love it too!!

Angeliki 25. March 2008, 18:28

My sweet Jillee, after 24 years in America, I never spend summer in New York!
I hope I do hear all about a NYC summer from some one that has a good eye for things like you!:D
My summers are for adventures and I drink and absorb every single one of them!
Maybe one day we will meet at Angelina's!

Jill 25. March 2008, 19:48

I'm back and forth, too! I have family in Italy and France and my favorite Aunt is in New York, so we usually make it a family reunion of sorts whenever I can make it to the City!

I grew up in South Philly, Little Italy, which is a yearly trip, to keep in touch with everyone!

Life is hectic here right now, so my travel plans, for the most part, are on hold. I do look forward to seeing everyone, when I can.

It's great to travel to greet the seasons!!! There are only '2' here in Florida...cold/cool and very hot!!!!! We make the best of it! Florida is growing on me!!!

Hugs:)

Angeliki 25. March 2008, 19:56

hugs to you too!
I had an apt on the 19th floor in Hollywood Florida,
too many open places to enjoy,
now days I stay winters in NYC and summers I alternate btwn Greece and Pennsylvania.
I am still confused of what I will do with my life.
Still looking for something to shake me and make me see the future.I only live for the moment.
I love Philly.
My daughters god mother lives in West Chester Pa and works at Johnson and Johnson
Maybe we can get together there!! hugs again :D

Jill 25. March 2008, 20:05

I never know what I'm going to do, besides the normal days routine, until I get up in the morning. I understand what you're saying.

I love the parks in West Chester, especially around the College.

Hey friend, if/when you find that 'something' that helps you figure out the future and all the rest of it...would you send it my way???
I could use all the help I can get!!! :yikes: :frown:

Lois 25. March 2008, 20:15

I gained 10 pounds just reading that!

Jill 25. March 2008, 20:24

Lois 25. March 2008, 20:28

I can enjoy it VIRTUALLY, I guess

Jill 25. March 2008, 20:37

Wow, Odile is impressive! And her philosophy connecting art with living:
"It's work that requires patience. It is like in life...something that is not worked for...if you try to get there right away..it won't work. It's very symbolic of existence."

Claude's video is fantastic! Just wonderful!!! He's awesome, isn't he?

I've forwarded this one to some friends, but most are already steady viewers/big fans of Culture Surfer!

Yes, it's a fabulous restaurant, I agree! I thought you may have stopped off there in your travels.
On my next trip over, I won't forget Angelina's Milk Chocolate Mix!!:D :coffee:

Jill 25. March 2008, 20:39

Everything does......eventually.

I love you, too Angeliki!

Jill 25. March 2008, 20:40

Anyway you can enjoy it...just do like NIKE!!!! Worry about the pounds tomorrow!!:D

Naomi 25. March 2008, 21:09

Jillee-Thanks so much for creating more CultureSurfer addicts in the world.

Claude did a great job on that video; hoping he gets online soon to receive the kudos.

I also thought Odile's philosophy was very cool & I am trying to keep it in mind.

Jill 25. March 2008, 21:36

Hey, you've made CultureSurfer a success with your love for your work, Naomi! And it shows in every project!

Looking forward to seeing Claude, too!

I loved listening to her while she was explaining and describing, because she says so much more than the ear can absorb...fascinating person! :star:
