A New Day

The splendor of this beautiful creature brings thoughts of change and for a long time, the "Butterfly" in all it's glory held thoughts of danger and fear for me, in knowing how it evolved.
It must have been that "science project" at age '10' and I should have never peeked under the sheet and looked in the aquarium at '3' in the morning.
Today I see it a little differently, though not totally without remembering where it came from, and so I understand, that, like the "Butterfly", we begin, unsure, blind to the beauty around us, trying to look past the way it was and accept the way it is.
Accepting that I will be the best I can be today without any expectations of where I will land, and spread my wings and fly.
I will shine with brilliant color and even if those colors begin to fade, I will remind myself of where I came from, how I evolved, and what more I have to look forward to!

Balance: we find it and at times, struggle to keep it. It's a wonderful thing!!! And another basic tool for survival!
