Edgar Allan Poe
"The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends and where the other begins?"
Karen Horney
Karen Horney was a pioneering theorist in personality, psychoanalysis, and "feminine psychology".
Maya Angelou
"Her genius as a writer is her ability to recapture the texture of the way of life in the texture of its idioms, its idiosyncratic vocabulary and especially in its process of image-making." "The imagery holds the reality, giving it immediacy. That [the author] chooses to recreate the past in its own sounds suggests to the reader that she accepts the past and recognizes its beauty and its ugliness, its assets and its liabilities, its strengths and its weaknesses."
Rose Maria Prima
My Mom, who died 28 years ago at the age of 48 and would complete my list of admired and respected people that have touched my life. She made everything beautiful. And who would be, by far, the most interesting guest at my dinner party!

I'd like to manage my time better. I've been trying to do too much and have taken on responsibility I was not prepared for.
I'd like to be a more accepting person. I need to accept that I can't always change a situation just because I have in the past.

I'm looking forward to spending 'alone' time. I need to regroup.

I'm also looking forward to finishing a book I've started some time ago.

I miss my pool...pouting big time

, ,

No, this isn't my pool. This was my dream pool until I found out how much it cost..LOL! I really had no idea, because the only other home I've lived in since moving to Florida had a pool, hot tub, the works. And all was included in the price of the home/property.

This pool, on the left was $285.000.00. And I couldn't/wouldn't have had this one as my choice due to the concrete. It's too cold. I like wood. Everywhere. Wood.

So, I went hunting and found a contractor that delivered my pool according to my lil' homemade blueprint. It took long enough and by the time it was done it was too cold to swim. eeeek!

But I got exactly what I wanted, down to the shape of the deck and a privacy fence AND located at the back of my property where I have a little walk to get to it, and it's so quiet and pretty down there.
Since this picture, I've had the deck stained/watersealed in oil, twice. The wood is darker and warmer. And I've added palms everywhere. I'm also adding a waterfall this summer with the boulders around the hot tub.

On the other side the deck is 16ft by 120ft and that's where the cabana is. That is very tropical, but still needs finishing touches. When I get it done, I'll share the pics of my favorite get-a-way!!!

When I have my first pool party...you're all invited!!!
