Just back from the Margaret River Pro Surf Competition, its Monday and feel tired / stupid. Was a highly unorganised mess at the start but it all worked out as the weekend clawed on. Friday night on arrival met Nathan (from Bali), Heather (Feather), Irish couple (bad with names) and Krystal (Perth) at the local backpackers, the mess started. I could go on.. but Im not going to. Surf comp - superb. Mainbreaks mini-music-fest - sensational. However, Friday night was definitely the cake-taker. Polished drunken jargon with mass foreign strangers, a real life dance off (fantastic), a fight (not cool), guy running away from cops - bailing then getting re-arrested (funny). We were also fortunate enough to meet Bobby (along with his cluster of Irish aficionados). "Fiyve weeks Irve been here fur, and nutt wance 'ave I been to der beearch" "Laugh you will, but its da trooth!" I dont think he's ever even drank a plain glass of water that sounds dumb but I'm being serious, he must be genetically constructed of booze by now. Mad as a box of frogs but all respect due to the man. Going to end this quote of the weekend goes to Nathan for his outstanding remark of "yeah, it's not so much good without music" I almost burst blood vessels in my eyeballs when I heard him say it. Thanks goes to chooks chicken, Bob S's love generation, Jule from Backpackers,AM radio & the Irish Monks for inventing "the water of life". End.

So lost my board a mere month after purchase, BUT thanks to a bit of luck and hippy love, got it back all safe n sound, I still suck though. Margaret River Pro surf comp on this weekend followed by Mainbreak music festival, what a peach. Photos to follow. Afterwhich Blues n Rootz festival, then off to Broome to do fruit picking for 3 wholesome months before my around the world trip kicks off in October 06. Beautiful day today. The end.
