Pierogi is a very traditional Polish dish eaten by everyone. Although often described as a stuffed dumpling, this speciality is more akin to Italian Ravioli. Indeed, it is thought that they were introduced to Polish cuisine about 500 years ago by Queen Bonna who was Italian
These little treasures are truly versatile. They can be served with soup, as a starter sprinkled with fried onion and bacon, as a main course either with a sauce or plain with sour cream although more often as an accompaniment to a main course and even as a dessert. Once boiled they can be served as they are, sautéed in butter or even deep fried and can be filled with practically anything you have to hand. The favourite fillings include seasoned pork or beef with onions, cottage cheese, sauerkraut, potatoes, cabbage and mushrooms.
My stay in Poland has been like pierogi filled by very good things! Wroclaw is a great city, full of parks, banks along the river, beautifull libraries, wonderfull churches and many others things, that make it much better then Porto for living and trainning. Being here has been like a break in my life and a gift full of very good things. Here I have time to take a deep breath, go out for trainning in the middle of the afternoon, go to the library, go out with friends at evening...I mean, here I don't feel the stressfull kind of life that I have in Porto. So nice!

ODRA - saturday trainning
Trainning here has been also very good. Poland is not the best place for orienteering, but definitely much better than in Portugal. It's great to take part in some competitions and trainnings with Slask Wroclaw. So nice and kind people that I really have to say DZIEKUJE BARDZO!!
