Impossible is nothing

Long distance national championship

After sprint and middle distance national champs I felt really motivated to prepare the long distance for the national champ. So I changed a little my trainning programme for this kind of distance. I also took part on two trainning camps always navigating on 1:15 000 scale, preparing long legs and also getting used to the hot weather that would be expected to the champ.
Beside have been working a lot at med school I felt quite strong to the long distance and at 4th May at the start line I was perfectly focused and confident to that race. I was navigating quite ok and going on nice speed for long distance...althought as I was arriving to the 9th control I twisted my ankle.I stopped a little and then, started walking painfully to the next controls. I didn't want to give up because my team was expecting a good race from me as we were trying to reach the podium. So I kept walking and then started running slow until the end of the race. It a pitty!
