Orienteering trainning camp- portuguese and spanish national teams together

After a nice christmas between family and friends I went to Marinha Grande for a trainning camp with the national team.I was looking forward to this trainning camp after spending 3 weeks studying neurology.
The spanish coach, Per Sterner, organized the trainning camp for the spanish national team and invited the portuguese team to participate too.The main goal of this trainning camp was «to be 100m ahead from where we are» ,it means,to read, imagine the terrain and analise the map while travelling to the next control.I did nine trainning sessions , catching an overall of 157 controls.

This was my favorite trainning during all trainning camp. Firstly we run this course as a usual orienteering course.well,a little bit different because there wasnt any tracks, green ou yellow areas and it was only possible to use the contours. I did many small mistakes close to the control but not a big one! Then all the girls run the course without map as a cross competition!By this way we can see the differences between run with map and without it. The main goal now is to short the distance beetwen the two courses. (results here
At night we discuss and analyse trainnings and o-techniques with Per Sterner and between all the athletes.
Besides that there was also time to spend cooking doh , watching movies, and having fun with orienteering-friends.

After this trainning camp I took two rest days, did 4 trainning sessions and then I was ready to run the S.Silvestre of Sto. Tirso (5th January)cool I was quite sucessful taking a nice 10th place smile Now I'm back on trainning in Oporto and start studying again.
