Thank you for all the encouraging comments guys. It's good to see some of the 'old crowd' here with a desire for keeping this project ticking over. We shall complete this project I'm sure of that, but if it were easy it wouldn't be as much fun!

Love it. Keep it up. My hard drive blew up on me a few months ago and I lost a lot of valuable stuff--for instance, Golinski Bros.!

Thanks for doing this--it was a shame the ILM thread ended before the final elusive tracks were found (where are you, Sasha Caro?)
I've got most of the ones that were put up (and have the originals of the Jerry Byrd 45--my small contribution to the thread), so let me know if you need anything--

Thanks for keeping the dream alive. I recommend a list at the side of all missing tunes. That way we can all compare. If I'm missing something but its not on the list, I'll know to check out the space for it. If I see a song on there, but I own it, then I can get it out to people.
Lastly, whatever happened to the bloke who bought the Sasha Caro single and said he was going to share. I think he might've been lying.
Much love everyone,

Many thanks for these.
And great news on the pigs big 78 release too!
By anonymous user, # 2. May 2006, 16:15:53
I've missed adding the b-sides to some of the above due to a mixture of incompetence and the sorting of files on my pc. That would be general incompetence in fact. Will fix tomorrow.....or the day after! Also you will notice that I'm obscuring some of the artist and title names - for obvious reasons! The search bots are already picking up this site which is fine up to a point but I don't want it to disappear overnight before our work here is done (we don't want *too* many moves), ;-p I shouldn't think you need to be a cryptographer to figure it out though!

By anonymous user, # 3. May 2006, 12:27:49
just wanted to add more gratitude and encouragement for your not inconsiderable efforts! I was on the ILM from close to the beginning and lost it in a hard drive crash (why do so many of us have hard drives die? why don't we back up?!?!) anyway, thanks, and peace...
By anonymous user, # 3. May 2006, 23:07:59
On the subject of hard drive failures I've just replaced mine after repeated crashes created enough bad sectors causing it to refuse to boot. The replacement I bought (brand new) failed within a couple of hours of operation. It happens! The replacement for the replacement seems to be working fine.
You guys and gals may already know this but, check that S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring Analysis Reporting Technology) is activated in your BIOS - this will notify you of all 'predictable' failures giving you time to move your files elsewhere. Even when it finally stops responding at boot up you could still be able to rescue data from it by slaving it to a working computer which is what I managed to do and have done on other numerous occasions. It's all dependent on the type of failure but don't assume all is lost and chuck it out!
By JohnPeelsRecordBox, # 4. May 2006, 06:57:33
Thanks for all the encouragement from everyone and to Chris for his list - looks like we have some missing between us so I'll be bugging you shortly for a swapsies session!

great news that this project is being kept alive
maybe now the elusive tracks will appear (here's hoping)
in the missing list, easy teeth car noise is crossed out – does this mean we have it?
any links?

Fantastic News.
One request would be not to rotate tracks off the page once they've been added for about a week or somthing? If that makes sense. I'd hate to miss out on any and don't allways get chance to check in till every few days, I'm sure thats true of many folk.
Other than that, just to say thanks once again.
By anonymous user, # 20. May 2006, 12:13:49
How about Mary Monday?
And the Freshmen-You Never...!
Surfin' Hootenany?
Jody Reynolds, please!
Stanley Winston-Ghettos!
Sorry, I'm missing the obvious ones. Thanks for all you're doing.

Only a few days left! If no one else can do the transfer, I'll grab it.

Re. Yami Bolo 7'': Well spotted Jon - go for it, that'll be the b side sorted out
Also the question about rotating files shouldn't be an issue. As mentioned a couple of comments back, I think I should be able to get everything up here by spreading them across two or three hosts.
Finally I found this link yesterday: http://www.radiogeronimo.co.uk/johnpeel.htm
'The legendary weekday lunchtimes in 1993 when John Peel covered for Jakki Brambles...'
They've been upped by dubster or duffpaddy before on rap1dsh@re but here they're available in real media format to dl. Not checked out the quality myself yet but the uploader states they come from an FM source.
By JohnPeelsRecordBox, # 24. May 2006, 12:11:50
Okay, I'll grab the Yami. No bidding me up, now!
Thanks a mil for posting those.
Jon
By anonymous user, # 24. May 2006, 15:07:24
i may be stating the obvious here but you all do realise that the yami bolo 'version' that we're looking for is the 'version' (or dub) of 'richer than cory' and not the 'version' on this 7", don't you?
By anonymous user, # 25. May 2006, 16:03:54
By JohnPeelsRecordBox, # 25. May 2006, 17:48:31
Hmm. I didn't know that. Or maybe I did, if it was discussed before, and I forgot. I guess I've been outed as a dub novice. I may still grab it, though.
Jon
By anonymous user, # 25. May 2006, 20:04:46
an easy mistake to make - i'm sure it was debated on the original ilx thread
the 7" will be well worth the £3 you paid anyway…!

Vinyl copy? Thanks but does this mean you have B-Side too because we need that especially?
By anonymous user, # 28. May 2006, 20:53:31
Unfortunately not. This was from Stan's Soul Shop vinyl LP.

I noticed I'm missing the Nightcaps and Lonely Saturday Night--could you post those?
I won the Yami, it'll need to come over the Atlantic and to the west coast, so it'll be a while, but I'll record it and put it up for people to check out if they like.
Jon
By anonymous user, # 31. May 2006, 21:18:43
Don French, The Nightcaps, Roy Head & Bobby Lee Trammell added - still at only 80% on this server (with two on hold - a further 600MB)!

'Easy Teeth' turns out to be 'Eazy Teeth', a former beefheart roadie. 7" on Dental records. one quick google later and, lo, an mp3:
http://mailman.xmission.com/lurker/message/20050819.144516.d8904d99.en.html
it's also on ebay for $39 but that's a bit much for me.
By anonymous user, # 13. June 2006, 15:19:20
Always good to know who's biding on records so we don't bid against each other - for the sake of the collection that is - otherwise it's a fair of course. Good luck with it.
Dizzy - can you be more specific in your question please? Cheers matey.
It's good to get something new in the collection. Uploading the new Eazy Teeth now...
edit1: done
edit2: btw i will get more files up but i'm just a bit preoccupied right now

John Peel's Record Box (the blog) and it's publisher (curator) assumes full and sole responsibilty for all uploaded files. Signed the curator - JohnPeelsRecordBox|at|gmail.com
Just to make it clear that although this is a group effort and I don't want to take credit for other users good work, the buck stops with me ok ? :-D
Back to work then, 083 Roshell Anderson & 095 Stanley Winston are now available!
By JohnPeelsRecordBox, # 28. June 2006, 20:47:29
It's great to have the A and B of Stanley Winston finally--but could we rerecord on a turntable that doesn't wow and flutter so much? It's wildly fluctuating.
