Reasons for the holidays of the Christians

Hey guys, it's Easter time. you get eggs, eat eggs and you are happy.
But why do we celebrate this? The problem is: Many people celebrate Christmas, Easter and so on, but they don't know why. I will give you a small (a really small) list of the most important days, so you know, why we /the Christians) celebrate them.
Background information: During the proselytization by the Christians, there were many festivals that were celebrate by the "heathens". The new Christians want these days, so the church put many festivals on days, where the new Christians had celebrated there festivals before. I will mention one, because I just know that. If you know another example, please tell me.
Christmas: We start at the same point: The birth of Jesus is the 24th December. Official. Unofficial it was a little bit earlier, but ok, we don't think about that. In many countries it's tradition to give presents to each other at this or the next two days. As I said, Jesus Christ was born and it was in Bethlehem, in a cot and maybe in one of these days, the shepherds heard of the birth. In my opinion, this is the wrong day to give presents, but I will go on later. And IMO, the real Christmas gets lost by the medias and Christmas-songs and so on.
Background information: Today, there are two animals in the cot: A bullock and a donkey. This is an invention of newer days.
Christmas is one of these old festival-days: It was the "day of the undefeated god of the sun". Maybe, the chruch put Christmas on this day, because of this festival. Who knows?
Twelfth Day(I hope this translation is correct. I mean the day of the three holy kings): This is the day when we should get our presents, because the three holy kings arrived at Christ. They gave him gold, olibanum and myrrh. In some countries (I think, one of these is Russia, but I am not sure).
Background information: There is just one guy who mentions the three kings: Mathew. But he just wrote about the three presents and the guys were some kind of astronomers. Some people just said: "There are three presents, so there must be three persons. And these presents are expensive, so they are kings." We even don't have any name.
Good Friday: Before this day, there is Palm Sunday: Jesus arrived at Jerusalem and the people had the sheets of palms in their hands. And their is Holy Thursday, but no one knows the reason of this day (maybe, because of crying?). Good Friday is the day, when Jesus gets his adjudgement: The cross. In the twelfth hour, he died. This is a day of silence and reflection.
Eastern: The day, when Jesus Christ revived. This day is, with the Good Friday, the most important day for the Christians. Jesus was buried in a grave (exactly: in a hole of a Jew), but he revived and an angle told the two Marias. I think, the reason, why this is one of the most important days for the Christians is clear: The symbol of the Christians is the cross and the revival is the big wonder.
Background information: The word Eastern is a "modification" of east. And you know, east is the part in the sky, where the sunrise is and the people link something like rebirth or new life with a sunrise.
I think, these are the most important festivals of the Christians. Of course there are more, like Pentecost (the day of the holy ghost...he appeared on that day) or Thanksgiving (another festival with a "heathens" background: Both have the same reason and day), but these are the most important ones.
