Octuplets' Mom

Would you decide to be a single mom for 14 children by fertility technology? I understand people have rights to do whatever they want as long as there is no harm to others but just cannot believe her doctor actually helped to make this kind of irrational decisions to bring so many little lives to this world at the same time. It is debatable how many children a single mom(by choices but not by force) can have and apply for free/low cost public childcare services. Since Ms. Suleman said in the interview that she has never been on welfare, I wish her good luck and continuing her good spirits of being independent. Her free choice of being a strong single mom should not be a burden of our society.
According to NBC news, "The parents of the McCaughey septuplets — seven babies born in Iowa in 1997 — received a donated 16-room house, a 15-passenger van, baby food from Gerber, and a lifetime supply of Pampers from Procter & Gamble." It is understandable that a lot of us question Ms. Nadya Sulema's intention of going public because the previous families with multiples have received a lot of generous financial supports from the society. I am not sure if it will work out as well on Ms. Sulemans' case since she already hires a publicist who handles the offers of book publishing, movie deals and media interviews. I simply don't understand why some people think we should help a person like Ms. Nadya Suleman more than homeless people on the streets.
Most people who challenge Ms. Suleman's decision are concerned more about the fertility regulation, how the welfare system works and most importantly the over populated world. There is nothing wrong choosing to be a single mom, but it is absolutely questionable to "choose" to be a single mom with 14 kids without a job and with unstable health(the previous injury and depression). We cannot stop people naturally having babies -every one are entitled the basic human right to have as many kids(or no baby at all) as s/he wishes; however, there must be some limits for people to artificially make babies. It is insane to let people fertilize as many babies as possible. What this is going to lead us to? The medical professionals should take more conscientious responsibilities on providing medical services. Should our medical resources focus on more life threatening problems? In US, there are so many people cannot offer cancer treatment; it is sad to know the disability benefit went to Ms. Suleman's fertility "treatment"(I don't know if a person who already have 6 kids definitely needs this kind of treatment) and 8 premature babies' ongoing medical care. I am very glad Ms. Suleman's fertility doctor is under The Medical Board of California investigation now. At least, the fertility treatment of implanting 6 embryos(two split) at the once in one female's womb should not be encouraged.
