Taste of the Himalayas Restaurant

Taste of the Himalayas is one of the most impressive restaurant I have ever been; the owner Shrawan Nepali is also the coolest restaurant owner I have ever met. Last night, my husband and I went to another fancier Nepali restaurant in San Francisco and it reminds me how much I loved the food, atmosphere and Shrawan's passion at Taste of the Himalayas. We will definitely revisit it pretty soon.

(The above is a video I shot the night on November 30, 2007. Isn't Shrawan charming?)

I love their Nepali momo. They are like bigger steamed Chinese dumplings my husband and I like to make at home, of course, much tastier and tender on the wraps. The yummy dip sauces for Momo are soar, sweat, spicy, creamy and everything else I cannot describe. Gee, I wish I could be there now.

(great samosa to start a meal with)

(must have a couple bottles of beer)

(lots of dishes)

(sagg paneer was the best)

(Shrawan was so cool; he sat down and drank with us until the restaurant closed that night. As eaters, we couldn't ask more.)

Most importantly, it was such a comfort to know that some part of the money we spent for our delicious dinner was for the orphanage in Nepal and the homeless people in SF. My husband and I highly recommend people living in or visiting the Bay area to check this Nepali restaurant out. You will not regret.
