Microsoft Vista Aero vs. GNU Linux Beryl

Is interesting how many people will are in awe with Vista but probably will never meet what is on Linux with Beryl and XGL. So with Vista you get about 5 new effects, maybe the thumb generation, the windows fliping on a deck-like card manner.

However Beryl has probably 100 effects, between the famous rotating virtual cubes, wobbling windows, and great animations.

Vista will probably eat your pants off when it ocmes to hardware, it will ask for more than 1GB of ram just to run. Linux on the flipside, will just require 250 mb of ram with an NVIDIA and ATI card.

So maybe people will never know about this project, but if you got to this blogpost, you are not one of them. So if you really want a 3d experience you should check out youtube and look at the many videos about XGL and Beryl.

… so what is the hole hype about Linux! Beryl?? O please… useless effects that a common user wont even use? The rest is the same.. I tried Linux before and I rather pay for my OS… Linux fans can argue all they want…… I want my MS Word and all other windows based application! Now I know, someone will criticize that Linux works with MS Word documents… blah, blah blah…. Most Linux programs look like they were made in 1999, to switch for Beryl… nahhh As for the issue of speed and ram consumption… who is worried about that anymore? You can find computers being thrown away with over a gig ram! As for stability, Linux crashes just as well as a Mac and Vista. For those people that are trying to install illegal vista on a crapy computer that used to run ME…. Don’t! and Don’t write any reviews about Vista!

Well even microsoft agree that vista suck, why you think they are rushing to put a new windows version out?

Also if you need a Gig of Ram to run the same program that you used to run with 8mb of ram, something is very wrong.
