Bought E71

, , , , , , , , , ,

:D Yes, a few days ago, I bought an E71 at $400 or Rs. 20,000/20K. This is a very good handset. It works on Symbian S60 3rd v9.2, the most tried and tested and stable version of s60. It has environment friendly Energy Star powered charger.Multitasking is smoothe on this phone. It has 300 MHz processor and 110 MB RAM. Btw, I think, at this price point a phone should have at least 1GHz processor and 1 GB RAM and better multimedia. If you want a review of this phone from me, I might post it next month, but the links I provided on this post give you detailed info about this phone. The following photos are taken using N6630's 1.3 MP camera :-

Yes, Kiran. It's a good phone! Better than mine, for damn sure. Ooh, I'm all jealous now  . Bout time you got an upgrade, you've been stuck with your Nokia for ages :faint: !

ellinidata 7. May 2009, 00:10

Hi Kyren, welcome back! a very nice phone!

KYren 7. May 2009, 00:24

 Kim,E71's browser really supports Flash.

KYren 7. May 2009, 00:26

:D Elin,thank you.

intothedeep 7. May 2009, 02:04

Nice phone, Kyren, but $4oo? Is that US dollars :faint: I use a PC so I honestly don't get as excited as the rest of phone users :o:

Panzerplatte 7. May 2009, 02:42

Welcome back! :D Good looking phone

KYren 7. May 2009, 02:42

:insane: Mags, yes that's 400 US dollars.I wanted to buy a netbook, which costs the same, but I decided to buy this coz it's more convenient to me.

intothedeep 7. May 2009, 02:45

:eyes: Can't imagine. Although, I have been thinking of a phone...the convenience would be lovely  Just stay out of the rain! p:

KYren 7. May 2009, 02:46

Thanks,Leo.

KYren 7. May 2009, 02:52

KYren 7. May 2009, 03:26

Read all the recent posts from my friends.gtg now,see you later.

Arnekrilu 7. May 2009, 07:16

Welcome back. I receivd an "old" Ericsson from my son recently. I would have prefered a Nokia. :D :D :D

Furie 7. May 2009, 11:37

Good phone, and sooooo pretty. How you finding the user experience so far?

Inbox me your e-mail address and I'll send you some pretty cool software to try out on it once I can access my files again.

Spaggyj 7. May 2009, 14:30

Yeah, your browser is much better. Once I get my 5800, I'll be able to visit websites and view most flash stuff. Four hundred dollars is a good price for a phone like yours, for sure.

sukku 7. May 2009, 14:45

Phone looks cool....

Javaen 8. May 2009, 02:31

I will have to buy a phone again.

I'm kinda scared. :insane: I got the Blackberry I do/did have for 50 bucks on promotion.

Yours is beautiful. And again, glad yer back.

kalynka 9. May 2009, 11:56

Congrats on the awesome purchase !

KYren 9. May 2009, 20:16

:D Thanks Arne.I have not used any phones other than symbian based Nokias. I wanted to buy a Windows mobile phone only bcoz Opera Mobile is being developed for Windows phones only,.I have read reviews that symbian is better mobile OS than Windows.

KYren 9. May 2009, 20:45

Yes,it is,Mik.Now,I can use more apps at the same time on it unlike the N6630 which has just 9 MB RAM.See the screenshots, the dots above apps icons indicate active apps.
But the phone doesn't have even a photo editing app in it.And it only plays mp3,divx,3gp and avi media files.
 Sure,Mik."once I can access my files again"? Are you talking about MOSH?

KYren 9. May 2009, 20:47

5800? I thought you don't like touchscreen phones.

KYren 9. May 2009, 20:49

Thanks,Sukku.

Spaggyj 9. May 2009, 20:51

I do like them, why did you think I didn't? I wanted the SEG900 for a while, then I noticed the N5800. It's Apple I dislike, and touchscreens that require thumb or finger use. And I have a name

KYren 9. May 2009, 20:53

: D Thanks Jen.I think you should buy a Palm Pre or G1 or an E71.

Furie 9. May 2009, 20:57

One of the things I'll send you is the photo editing suite for S60 phones. A lot of E series don't have it.

KYren 9. May 2009, 21:03

p: Sorry Kim,just posted in a haste.
I like touchscreen phones.5800 comes with an 8 GB memory card.

KYren 9. May 2009, 21:13

Thank you,Mik.
I wonder why these business phones don't have multimedia apps preloaded? Homer: Doh!

KYren 9. May 2009, 21:19

:D thanks,Alla.

kalynka 9. May 2009, 21:25

Oh, you've finally noticed me p:

Furie 9. May 2009, 21:40

Because they're for business they originally didn't have cameras so that business secrets couldn't be smuggled out of companies. Now, they keep to that by keeping the editing suite off so things can't be changed. It's pretty simple to implement though, but most people don't know how. I've got a copy in my files.

I blew my battery while you were away, so most of my files are trapped on my other phone. Just won a Samsung i8910HD myself so I'm not bothering getting a new battery yet, but I've got a backup of the suite somewhere in this one..

We've got a full list of accessories that come with the 5800 Kim is interested in. I'm researching the upcoming 5900 for her now though, while she checks out the 5800.

Spaggyj 9. May 2009, 21:49

I know, dude. I do my research :D

Furie 9. May 2009, 21:58

As for a 1Ghz processor, they've only just been designed for mobile devices and will only start making an appearance in models later in the year. It'll hit only the most expensive flagship model phones first and only eventually filter back to our price range. Even the one I won only has a 600Mhz processor and that's the highest one on S60 at the moment.

KYren 10. May 2009, 00:59

Alla,I answered the comments in the order they have been posted.

Mik,I think that 5900 is worth waiting.I have read many complaints about 5800.

Kim,I know you're a geek.I mentioned it just for the sake of mentioning it. p:

Love to talk with you friends, but I gtg, now.see ya soon or next month,in case I get 1 kbps again,I am deactivating the connection.I hope the networks improve as fast as the phones are improving.

kalynka 10. May 2009, 03:57

I like this optimism in you, keep it coming :yes:!

KYren 12. May 2009, 14:36

Al,I saw a documentary yesterday. It was about heroin addicts. There was this couple on the streets of Oslo, selling magazines, only to get a shot of heroin at the end of the day, their lives revolve around this drug. Then there was this girl who was a heroin addict in her teens and had quit it later, she said that heroin gives the most euphoric experience in life, she was afraid that she would succumb to the addiction again. The heroin completely changes the brian structure of the addicts.
Now I think relying on outwardly things for happiness is a mistake.Stable happiness comes from within.I will keep it coming.

Furie 12. May 2009, 16:28

Yeah, it's what's inside that counts for happiness. Especially if what's inside is a double cheeseburger with bacon.

KYren 12. May 2009, 17:31

Oh,you were speaking metaphorically from your perspective. You can have the burger, btw.:D

Furie 12. May 2009, 21:10

I regularly do. :chef:

KYren 12. May 2009, 21:28

 no objection.

KYren 13. May 2009, 19:41

btw mik, afterthought, the happiness from within philosophy is easy to talk about but difficult to practice.I am not a saint and my emotions fluctuate according to what happens around me.we humans will follow something or the other in our lives.that's how we live.

Arnekrilu 14. May 2009, 06:24

Hi
