I Got Stung

Ever got stung before? I know i have, not long ago. And to tell you the truth, it's not pretty. It is as persistantly painful and electric as nothing you've ever felt before. When the venom gets into the tissue it really "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee." and by then there isn't much you can do about it.

Now, imagine this pain several times. Yes, this is what a person with arithritic condition and leg pains would get during a bee venom therapy. Though, it is controlled and administered under supervision, the pain can still be too much. It's done for therapeutic purposes to help people. If a patient wants to be helped, they may have to pay this little extra price.

In my case, the therapy was as natural and free. Abeit it wasn't really a therapy, but you know what i mean.
Let me lay down exactly what happened, i was with two other people walking and in my right hand hung a can of beverage with a straw. We walked passed a trash container and obviously there were insects there and without caring much, i unwillingly and uninterestedly saw something that looked like a fly, by assumption, passed up my right arm at elevation. And i just thought it passed because it was like a fly and it didn't bother me or any of the people i was with. It seemed like it came to sit on the very back of my neck but then i couldn't really feel that until a sting was delivered.

And i was so shocked that the first question on my mind was; what type of fly would sting like this?
Quickly with my left hand i had already reached the back of my neck and i felt that it was a bigger bug and i hauled it a toss. To the ground it must have fell.

Then the overcrowding smell of the insect had started to signal my nose that, that was a bee. I was stung by a bee and not only that, the stingy pain had started to harrass the back of my neck. Immediately, i alerted the other two people i was walking with to be aware of what just happened. So, they helped me by removing the bee stinger.

Few minutes later, i was feeling the welt that had contoured my neck in pain. After an hour or so i was fine.

Luckily i don't have bee allergies because i survived this one just alright. This would have been tough if i was suffering from such allergy. Click here to read about how to deal with bee sting allergy.

Patterned: light the campus

, ,

Updates are in town and yet in fashion. Next time your school or college gives out free t-shirts or a campaign for that matter,
get ready to do some little experimenting with the good old cotton. You would find it conveying a message of free expression, choice and a hint for change when you tear up your freely "earned" top. No cost at you but a chance to get a bit creative, you'd never know, maybe this may awaken something you'd thought you didn't have in you, a unique sense of style.
This can be good if you're trying to establish your looks and personality in the social context. Especially on campus, a campus that is not smeared with bland flock of sheep. A vibrant one with boisterous and curious youth.

Now, going shopping and stacking the clothes in your closet or trying to keep up with what's hot out there every month end, can be mind-boggling. So instead of feeling bad you're not donating your clothes to the less fashion insensitive, you can choose to put a little magic in your oldies. But i always recommend that you experiment on stuff you get for free or a dollar because you are less likely to get attached to them. Stuff that is not lasting a long time. Everyone has that type of t-shirt.
Whereas, with tops that you bought with a good penny, they tend to kind of turn out to be your favourite clothing. So, we wouldn't wanna lose those memories...
Instead, we wanna create fresh new ones.
So go ahead, cut the t-shirt into patterns and see how it look on you. The person in the pictures surely has.

Now here's a little secret about her, she mixes what she wear with a matching kind of attitude. Of course this is not new, people feel differently when they are in particular clothing. Subsequently, they may show a certain behaviour, more like a matching style kind of and a good mood as well. Not to mention confidence. For example, you don't feel the same when you're wearing your regular stay-homes as compared to expensive tuxedos or designer's. See? I told you guys.

Heart rated:Vital signs

, ,

Sample of information was collected among teens the ages of 15 and 25 years old. The information is collected as a means of data sampling to share the inferences and reflections of the students behind this scientific endevour. This is done to share knowledge among the science community and to have some fun using medical equipments.

The students carefully and systematically collected data on the following vital signs in the practice of medicine. These vital signs each doctor practicing medicine knows very well of how important they are in helping to diagnose a medical problem of a patient. These are; pulse rate, heart rate, blood pressure and body temperature.

Pulse rate is the number of pulses (i.e. Radial artery) felt and calculated per minute. A normal pulse rate is about 80 beats per minute. A heart rate is the number of times a heart beats in one minute. This ranges a lot especially during sleep or a strenuos activity e.g. Excercise. On average, a healthy person exhibits 50-90 bpm. Blood pressure is a pressure exerted by blood flow on the artery walls, and is also considered a vital sign. Though using a sphymomanometer to record blood pressure reading is relatively easy and convinient, this is just an estimation which accounts greatly realiability. Normalities for blood pressure are numbers around 120/80 mm of Hg. Body temperature is the temperature of the body slightly more or less of 37°c

Here we give the arithmatic means of the results summaratively and a brief simple analytic report as well.
•The average of their heart rate is 73.33 bpm.
•Pulse rate is 72 per min.
•Blood pressure reading = 116/80 mmHg (rounded off to the nearest even number.)
•And lastly, body temperature at 36.05°c. Conclusively, one with experience in the medical field can easily see and admit that these individuals are relatively healthy. However, these vital signs alone are not fit to compile an official medical diagnosis. This goes without saying, vital signs are not entirely a matter of health but a matter of stability and fitness.

Precision in the diagnosis and precision in the callibration of the equipments used are also as imperative.

You may have realized that the average of the body temperature is slightly away from the expected number of 37°c. This is so because the data was collected in the evening. Hence, a correlation between time of day and body temperature is inadvertently suspected. There is a lot to draw from experimentation results and data sampling, is just that here we chose to be very brief as we already mentioned. For example, you realize that the heart rate (73.33) and pulse rate (72) are nearly the same thing, but yet the numbers here are different. This is what is commonly called pulse deficit.

Lastly, we'd like to thank all of the individuals participated in this little survey. Their co-operation and contribution are greatly valued. Thank you.
